Forums - Gaming Discussion - Opinion: I think it is very fair to say that if a game is indie, it's indicative of its poor quality

can't agree. While I do think that many are overrated, there are still a lot that are insanely good.

So, does anyone have any idea why most people dislike the PS+ offerings so much now that they include more indie games?

The other thing that I wanted to say is that the quantity of AAA games proportionate to the number of AAA released is much higher than that of indie games. That's in addition to the fact that quality threshold for AAA games are much higher than that of an indie game.

Because they want free $60 games each month rather than free $10 games each month? :p

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I generally agree, unless there is something truly special about the game, namely its art style, like Limbo, Journey and most recently Ori.

Cuphead looks to be the newest edition.

Completely false, just check out no man's sky, journey, and minecraft among others

I don't know man, world of goo is one of my favorite games and I have enjoyed a number of other indie games. The game on your list that I've played is lone survivor and I haven't played enough of it to say how good it is yet.

If the games were good, they wouldn't be complaining but the truth is that most people get these games on Plus, play them and see that there's a pattern that develops - that most of them are garbage. At least with retail games, there are some redeeming factor or fun to be had.

But PS+ was sold to people as a means of getting free big games.  It's like if you bought a house you really liked and then pull up to your new address and it is a totally different house.  Even if the houses is rather nice you are still going to be quite pissed that you didn't get what was sold to you.  Also, since when was PS+ or a console launch the be all end all indicator of game quality, indie or otherwise? :P  Some Indie devs just straight up don't want to put their game on consoles for any number of reasons.  And lastly, since when were user scores taken seriously?  I always see them being downplayed/rejected/ridiculed when they come from Amazon, Metacritic, or pretty much anywhere else.

That`s likely how the majority sees it, sadly. If it`s indie, most people think they`re not good, which is not true all the time. There are the good ones, and then there are the bad ones... Just like with standard big budget games. O: If only indies were treated better. Maybe with time, they will.
