What a lot of bitterness. I'm happy it gets extra funding and free publicity. Marketing budgets are too much nowadays. This way a lot more money will go to actual game development. Plus the developers get a sounding board and the fans get involved with the progress of the game.
It was never going to live up as a worthy sequel for $2 million, dream on. It's a clever way to promote the game, get the fans involved, and raise some starting capital. $29 for the game when it's finished, good deal for me too. Everybody wins. At least this is one game I know I will play when it's done. I quit backing smaller projects as my interest has always gone by the time they're finished, most of them are still in development hell. (Those promised delivery dates, what percentage actually make it?)
