Replaying Shenmue 1 right now... I didn't remember how much of a tank Ryo is. It's so clunky to move him around! xD
But the atmosphere and charm is still very much present. =D

LOL. If I understand correctly, now some people want Kickstarter to cancel the fundraising, or even want to cancel the game and threaten to pirate it (which, by the way, confirm that Sony was right to ask some financial confirmation from the "fans"), just because Sony help to fund it and it's not coming to their console? Even if that's how Kickstarter works and everything was clear about the platforms from the beginning...
Great job! Soon we'll have petitions to cancel games like SFV or even FF7 Remake because people are pissed that they are not coming to Xbox One... If you can't play the games you dream of, prevent the others from playing it too.

What is bad about it? You give whatever you want, and in the end, you get what you've paid for, based on how much money you pledged. |
This whole idea of using kickstarter as a way to gauge interest in products sounds sounds like a bad idea imo. If this becomes a growing tread, I feel that in order to get new games or revive old IPs, consumers will have to show interesting by giving money to products to reach a certain goal to see if it's worth it. That doesn't sound like a very good thing to me. It sort of sends a message to me of "Show us you want this product, or we will not make it"
That is a sort of thing I got from the Shenmue reveal. Sony presented it a way that they showed interest, but used kickstarter to test if it was worth it, which sounds rather terrible, especially coming from sony.

So there you have it everyone, you can stop getting all upset over this:
"But it's a Sega IP and of course Suzuki Yu-san is the creator. So somehow Suzuki-san was able to work out with Sega to allow them to Kickstart the project."
Kickstarter was something worked out between Yu and Sega, prior to Sony's involvement. They may have had conditions associated with it's funding on Kickstarter, but the concept was drawn up elsewhere.
