I hope VR crushes itself
Quick question : is the XBox One powerful enough to use Oculus Rift without a PC ? Because you can't consider the Oculus in the "XBox One ecosystem" and you can't fight against the PS4/Morpheus without that. And there are already concerns about the PS4 being "not powerful enough" to use Morpheus, so the One and Oculus seems unlikely....

Depends on the game.
If ms made a game like Zelda Wind Walker HD, that would be easy peasy for the xbox to run in VR.
And how amasing would that be? I just think its more likely to happend on the ps4.
MS chooseing a demo like this.... what the hell where they thinking?

No, it doesn't appear so. The key word used was "stream". This likely means that a PC is a necessary piece of the equation in getting games from the XO to the OR. Ultimately, given what we know so far, it seems that the OR is not natively compatible with the XO and will be limited in comparison to the PS4/Morpheus synergy.
i don't see the appeal in oculus or morpheus quite honestly D:

QTF. While I think Sony will be more succesful in the VR realm than Microsoft (on the Xbox One), I also feel that VR in general will ultimately be nothing more than an expensive fad.
It's VR right? It can make you think you are in a world where this is possible while wearing it.

As far as i understood it, the Morpheus has it's own chips to power it (and the extra background chip in the PS4 for background tasks), so I think within reason it will be fine. The problem for the XboxOne is that the Oculus doenst have it's own chips does it? It uses PC processing power which is why it needs a powerful PC to run it, so I dont think its feasible for it to run on the XBO. It may be they have only just signed a partnership so the easiest thing to do was do a streaming demo, but I'm not convinced it will work on XBO at all.
As for crushing the Morpheus, actually even though I am excited by the prospect of VR, I dont think any of them are going to sell enough units.. I just dont see them selling millions of devices that they will need to have games made specifically for them. I hope i am wrong, but just dont see the market being there, but Sony is in the best position because their user base is protected, while there are two competitors for the PC space and Valve has a better chance of getting to the hardcore PC users more than facebook/oculus.
