GoTY 2015: XCX Might Claim That Spot? Name the Contenders.

Of course everything here is opinionated, but XCX is definitely looking to be a game that will be amoung the highest ranking games of the year...

We have the biggest Contender currently here... With a Whopping 93 on Meta...

Contenders based off of Trailers/Biased/Gamer's Expectations/etc, here are others to watch out for. (No games not shown, example Star Fox. We have NOOO Info at all on it)

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Around the Network

Bloodborne
Batman: Arkham Knight
The Witcher 3
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Metal Gear Solid 5

I think these will be the biggest contenders...

Isn't there already like 5 threads about GotY contenders this year?

Anyway, Witcher 3 is gonna take the cake

Bloodborne is the only one who really deserves it. It's the only game out of those that won't resort to paid DLC to nickel and dime their customers.

Well not really... Maybe the Witcher 3 could win it since an expansion doesn't count as DLC.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Splatoon should be fun but I can already see reviewers taking a full point or more off for lack of voice communications just to start.

Otherwise, your list is quite good... If by some miracle Star Wars Battlefront comes out and is really good it might be a dark horse contender, especially as there could be some Star Wars fever in the air with the movie coming out December 18th.

XenoBlade, BloodBorne, and The Witcher are the best.

Halo and Splatoon are amazing, but i don'y think will become the GOTY.

Never played Batman, and IMO Metal Gears is overvalued.

By that logic, how about XCX? With all that content you think your paying already for a $150 game

Going to be between Bloodbourne, MGS V and Arkham Knight IMO.

As for my favourite, probably Witcher 3 or XCX.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I'll do you one better. I think XCX might claim game of the generation.

As far as other contenders go, I think Bloodborne, The Phantom Pain, and Arkham Knight have the best chances. Splatoon should be excellent, but I'm unsure it will be as special as the others. After the poor showing that was Halo 4, I don't have much faith at all in Halo 5. I've yet to play any of the Witcher series, so I can't comment on that with any confidence.

So a game can be amazing, long, full of content, a truly masterpiece.... but if they add one dlcs, then suddlenly the game is crap and doesnt deserve anything.
Mario Kart 8 would be better without the optional dlcs? Skyrim too? If the game is shorter is better just because the word DLC has become a tabu?

Nice logic.
