Highly unlikely, even though the game will be amazing for sure. I can't really see a jrpg like XCX winning the goty. The westernized Bloodborne has a much higher chance of winning. Possible candidates are bloodborne, tw3, mgs5, batman and halo, considering how a goty must have other requirements other than a good meta, like having pretty good sales. Also, among the listed games, bb and halo won't probably win because they're exclusives.

while i do think Persona 5 will be one of the best games of this year, i think it will be lucky to even be mentioned at the GOTY awards.

Indeed, I absolutely love Persona games, but realistically speaking P5 doesn't even have a chance...

btw is it gonna be released in 2015 in usa/eu? Isn't it scheduled for the end of 2015 in Japan only?

they pretty much confirmed at PSX 2014 That the game would come out in NA really close to the Japan launch, its not exactly a World Wide release but its the next best thing, and yes its coming  out this year... well at least thats what they told us, so lets hope no delays happen

XCX is too niche to win GOTY.

That's right, but tlou is one of the best games ever and 2013 wasn't full of potentially great multiplatform games like 2015. For an exclusive game to win  the goty award it must really be something extraordinary, something more than "just" a masterpiece like bloodborne is for instance. Just my opinion of course.
