Forums - Sony - Game Informer Opinion - What is the PS4 Going to do this Christmas?

-Release games that have yet to be revealed, we didn't know about bloodborne or LBP3 til E3
-Drop the price
-Buy some important marketing exclusivity deals+bundles(Starwars, division?)
-Have a shit ton of lessor exclusives (Planetside2, Persona 5, Ratchet and Clank, No mans land, Children of tomorrow, Rime, Hellblade etc).

They will loose in the US but easily win WW just like last year.

This. I find MS's system of loading everything on the holidays silly. Most of the big AAA game release Sep-Nov. Why would you put an exclusive in there. When people are buying a console they are taking into account the entire library. It might help a little if you have more exclusives fresh on the consumers minds but what matter more around the holidays is deals. That is why the XB1 had a good holiday 2014, people saw it as a good deal. FH2, Sunset OD, MCC had very little to do with it (as shown by the sales of those games).

If someone is buying a new console this year they have a library of over 2 years to consider.

Yeah, in the holidays, third party games and price are what moves consoles. Exclusives at quieter times of the year, like inFamous and Titanfall in March last year, give consoles a far bigger comparative boost compared to what exclsuives do in the holidays. Halo may be the only exception.

Ya its been that way for about 15 years now. Once MS has the Halo "bullet" once they fire it they dont have alot left. That said in the past it has been a mighty big bullet. I am curious to see how Halo 5 compares to Halo 3. Halo 3 was massive but it launched 2 months before the game changing CoD4. Halo 4 was launched on a install base that was massive so it was not a good indicator of how good a system seller Halo still is. When Halo 3 launched, the FPS world was Halo and then everyone else a long long way down. Halo 5 has alot more competition than 3 did.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

Should be something at E3, but I honestly wouldnt be surprised if there isnt much for it.

I am doubtful God of War 4 will release, maybe that Horizon game will be out for the Holidays, but I am leaning towards more remasters.

Maybe Demon's Souls 2? FromSoftware could already be working on it for all we know.

Plus if they did, I'd die laughing at the Xbox fans' collective response. "WTFOMG DARK SOULS 3 COME ON RAGE"

Still expect Halo 5 to be massive, but it does have more competition than Halo 3 did like you said. Oct 27th release means it is likely to be out only a week before the next CoD.

No man's sky could release around then. Sony really just needs some bundles and a price cut. It will dominate. I think that pressure is on xbone and wii u to do something to sell consoles.

I firmly believe sony needs to show something really good for the holiday's at e3, they have nothing at all from a exclusive stand point to sell their system. Sooner than later the ps4 huge sales will drop to a more reasonable manner and when it does they better make sure that they have the guns, to help the system out. The ps4 is a good system, still needs a few big features added to it, plus a few smaller ones as well. Overall their exclusives except for ( bloodborne ), were average at best, infamous ( good ), killzone ( crap, worst in the series by a long mile ), lbp 3 ( a passible platformer ), mlb series ( sub par ), tlou remaster ( a good game but a re-release ), drive club ( a decent racer, nothing special ).
In another words, uncharted ( will be great, like the others ), the new god of war ( will be a showcase game, with good gameplay ), a new tlou2 ( will be good for the ppl who enjoyed the 1st game ), but until all those games release the ps4 doesnt have much to show what the system can or could do with the proper time and effort.
Of course this is all just my opinion, if u agree with it than great and if not that is ok as well.

Gran Turismo 6 was released 6 months after it was announced.Anything can still happen at this point, we will have to wait till E3 before drawing conclusions.

Wait for E3 but for now PS4 looks really bad.

Sony is going to do the same thing they did last holiday. Win.
