Ports are not the same as remasters. If the WiiU got a GTAV Remaster, then I would say fair enough. Why? Because its never been on Nintendo console...

Not every PS4 owner had a PS3 before, not every XB1 owner had a 360 before, not every WiiU owner had a Wii before. So why is it okay when GTA V Remastered gets released on Wii U but it's not okay when GTA V Remastered gets released on PS4 or XB1?,

Or is there is a caste system in the home console market I'm not aware of? Should PlayStation users should stick with Sony every generation, should Wii users stick with Nintendo every generation and should Xbox users stick with Microsoft every generation instead of freely deciding each generation what console attracts them the most?

You can still buy a PS3 with GTAV. You cant buy a Wii with it...

Remasters are like an ex-girlfriend who you hadn't seen in a while and somehow ends up being hotter after you break up and you kick yourself every time you think naughty thoughts. Then you have to decide whether or not to deny the hook up with her on principle or hook up just because you both have to have one another one last time. :)

. . . That's the first time I've seen a remaster described like that

LOL It kind of reminded me of it. I've had a couple of exes that were hotter after breaking up. Conflict with a capital C. Its kind of like Remasters. I played it once but I don't know if I should ignore it or play it again because it was so good and looks even better now.

So people who switched from Wii to PS4 should spend another $200 for a PS3 if they want to play GTA V and most people who switched from PS3 or 360 to Wii U won't buy the the game again?

And developers should port their PS3 / 360 games to Wii U instead to PS4 / XBO even if they know that they have more room for enhancements on PS4 / XBO and these ports / remasters are much more profitable on PS4 / XBO? Because that "fair"? Because they owe it to the Nintendo purists who stick with Nintendo consoles each generation?

Why should they be catered to? They made their choice. Dont buy a console, then dont expect to play many of the games on it.

Some people stick to Nintendo consoles and maybe they would like to play GTAV. Im not defending them either. They could also pick up another console or play it on the PC.

Remasters are fine as in this is pretty much the only way you can play classic games on modern consoles unless your console is capable of running full emulation of the original games like the Wii / Wii U does. And even in that case we're talking about games that came out several generations ago, while the more modern ones like Zelda The Wind Waker or the Kingdom Hearts games essentially require all new coding to run on modern machines, so they might as well give the visuals a bump too while they're at it.

I also think alot of these companies are looking for a quick cash grab and to pad their current-gen software libraries when announcing remasters of games that just came out within the past year or two. It's kinda like how they'll release a game and then 6-12 mos later release a "GOTY" version for full $60 msrp that includes some DLC or some other extras.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

You cant be serious? I would never buy a 9 year old system (PS3) to play older games and exclusives. Id much rather have those same games on my new system with some enhancements. I know you dont like remasters but please be considerate and rational.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

TBH, i thought the last of us, and tomb raider remastered were way too early, they should atleast be 5 years old to have a remaster!

Same could be said for GTA V and a few other titles that got definitive editions like Sleeping Dogs and Devil May Cry. Personally I'm one of those people who believe remasters should only happen when one or all of these things occur.

1) The game is on an outdated console that can be hard to find.

2) The game itself is way too pricey.

3) The game was never released in Europe/North America.

4) One of the games most prominent features is it's online play which may be dead for any number of reasons.

I feel people complaining against remasters are ignoring millions of customers who never got a chance to play these games last gen. And no they don't want to waste money buying old systems for a handful of titles.

What is so wrong with buying older consoles that you never owned before? If you get to it before the console becomes "retro" then most of those games can be found for $2-10.
