Remember, Iwata said last year platform no longer meant the hardware you played on, but the network that your different devices connect to. Probably Nintendo's most significant codename since Revolution, in that it succinctly embodies the philosophy behind their next platform.

He meant it wouldn't stand for anything naming wise. I agree, I don't think the name of the console will have anything to do with "NX".

TBH Nintendo NX  will probably end up like Revolution.

Revolution turned into Wii.
NX will probably turn into  "NINTENDO ABC"

And if we are extremely unlucky it will just be a device that teaches children how to read etc.


I mean we all know Nintendo puts alot of thought into Naming their devices...(...that end in bad results. Its like letting a monkey think about improving solar panels. He can think as much as he wants but the end result will be shit because he just knows about bananas. I agree with Next. Iwata had to assure people that Nintendo isn't leaving console business with the abnnouncement of the mobile effort. But on the other hand Nintendo isn't ready to share enything. So he had to come up with something, but don't say anything valuable.

Personally, I would completely be for a console called the Nintendo NX.
