Forums - Nintendo - Just how big will Star Fox for Wii U be?

Already said by many, but yeah, Star Fox is an on rails shooter series, it has nothing to do with No Man's Sky and Star Citizen. Don't the like the idea of changing cores just for the sake of making everything bigger.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Expect a new Star Fox 64 with better graphics and a 40 $/€ price point, just like Captain Toad.

That's all I'm looking for in Star Fox. As has been stated earlier, a strong 6-8hr campaign with solid gameplay and some strong online multiplayer components and I'm a happy gamer. I have other games for vastness and exploration (too many at the moment, in my opinion).

I want another slot machine boss.

More to the point, i want friggin' StarFox classic released on Virtual Console. How have they not gotten to that yet?

If Nintendo is smart, when they show the game in June at E3 and announce the release date, they will also say that they'll bring the previous games to the virtual console before the launch of the new title, as an aperitif of what's to come.

Please excuse my bad English.

It's criminal how overlooked the original Starfox is. Still the best in the series, in my book.

op: It's pretty tough to say for this game. I don't think any game that is under development for a year will be that big in scope. However, sales wise, it MIGHT be huge. It will be a game that thrives off a nostalgia even though the game design itself will be extremely out of date and fairly irrelevent in today's gaming scene. But, you could have said the exact same thing about donkey kong country returns and that game went on to sell millions, while it's sequel completely failed to match those numbers. If there really are millions upon millions of real star fox fans out there then this game could be huge even if it just plays like star fox 64.
Really hope i'm wrong about everything here. I hope this game has secretly been in the works for a few years and it absolutely blows me away. I've always thought starfox has huge potential with its characters and setting.

Since it wasn't ready to be shown at E3 last year, I don't think it was far along then. Plus, weren't they still looking for a developer last year?

Starfox was always rather small, i don't think that will change for this game.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I feel like Star Fox has the potential to grow with the Wii U like Metroid did on the GC. There's a lot to add and for once I think the controller is a huge x factor for the game.

I don't expect it to be too big, maybe slightly bigger than SF64!
