Sonic will be reduced to Pokémon status?

Neither series has been really good.  I'm expecting Sonic and Knuckles to be the two Legendary Pokemon next game.  They'll be on the front cover and sell to both Pokemon and Sonic fans, maybe it'll get Sonic fans interested in the Pokemon series that has nothing going for it other than end game pvp.

So you don't like oldschool RPG, because basically that's what Pokemon is. Only Squirtle and Zygarde instead of Elves and dwarves.

Oh noes, I don't like Pokemon's stupidly easy single player that you can use one or two Pokemon and mow down everyone in every Pokemon gym weak against them or not.  Clearly I don't like oldschool RPGs.  You got me.  Man you're good..

Overlevel any character in oldschool RPGs and you can do the same.

Except I wouuld know whether or not I was grinding my ass off on Pokemon, and in the case it was a difficult game that actually require the use of strategy during the single player then the experience would have been better, but it's not.

So 'it has nothing going for it' simply means 'is too simple for my taste' for you. Good to know. So you have no general critic towards the mechanic of the game, although you refered to it as has nothing going for it.

It would be funny if Nintendo bought Sega and just cancelled Persona 5 or make it a Wii U exclusive. :p

Would love it. Reaction on here would be worth the fact that it's now on Wii U...

I said that "it has nothing going for it except for the pvp."  The single player difficulty is so easy you can run through every gym with one or two Pokemon that aren't even strong against the enemy types of that gym and still win against them.  The game has a nice bit of strategy when you have to put it to use, but the fact that the single player doesn't require it, then it's moot.

It'd be like if we were replacing the game of Pokemon with a electronic version of the game of Chess except if you were playing against an AI opponent rather than a human, the game automatically changes all of your pieces except for the king into queens and all of the opponent pieces remain the original pieces.  You'd have all queens and the only time you'd lose that game is if you were a complete idiot.  That's how it feels with single player Pokemon.  It's got a deep underlying strategy to it, but you don't actually have to use it because the game has piss poor balance.

Why doesn't Nintendo buy them+pokemon company+sega. They have their hands in the mobile market without actually sacrificing any of their known brands.

NO!!!! You stay the fuck away from my Sega... OK so I give no fucks for Sega but they own Atlus now and so they must stay 3rd party or go first party with Sony. You shall never steal my PERSONA!!!!

It would be funny if Nintendo bought Sega and just cancelled Persona 5 or make it a Wii U exclusive. :p

Best thing ever!

You do realize the only reason 1 or 2 pokemon mow down the game easily is because they take all the exp and grow really fast then right? You use a team of six is harder than using a single mon because you need to spend time grinding in most games. if its just 1 pokemon then by the third gym you're overlevelled enough to one shot everything.

I remember when I played Pokemon Y after having skipped two generations, I had my Talonflame learn Acrobatics, which does extra damage on enemies without items. Since almost no CPU characters have items, I pretty much dominated everyone with that Pokemon+move. I told my friend how easy it was when I did that, and her response was: "Okay. Don't use that."

I didn't have a response really. I started training alternate teams, and had a lot more fun with the game. I know poor balance is never a good thing, but I personally thought the breadth of options made up for it, since the game really lets you play however you like. Just my opinion anyway.

OT: Sounds interesting...though I'm not really into mobile games. Hopefully it's at least an eShop title like Harmoknight.

The game's difficulty curve is balanced for constant reshuffling of teams, not running an optimal team. While that really helps remove the grind for people who want to play using a ton of pokemon (like me!), it does make the game ridiculously easy if you are playing optimally. At this point, one of the biggest potential improvements for Pokemon would be adding in difficulty settings (and a built in Nuzlocke mode).
