free as I don't really play much online but when I do I don't want to pay for a full month or more when I only play a couple of times a year

I rarely ever play online, so I would want a free service. The "Free" games you get don't make it worth it either.

Free...I think the PS3 had a much better system than the PS4. Having the option to join a subscription service for games and features is fine, but forcing it on the consumers? Not so much...

Free, of course.

Can we stop calling monthly PS+ games, free? If u pay $50/year for these games, they aren't free......

They are free in a sense if you are dependent on MP anyways to play on PS4

Regardless of which feature is the selling point for an individual, u have to pay a certain amount to get those games thus they aren't free.

But they are free as long as you pay, and since its required for multiplayer you have to subscribe to it sooner or later at one point to get the full ps4 experience

They're still part of a pay service. Thus, not free. You can't get those games otherwise.

Free games is like what MS did to promote The Wolf Among Us. They gave the first episode, for free. There, you didn't need Gold, nor a subscription, nor nothing. You didn't even need a 360, you could log with a Microsoft Account, go to the Xbox Store and "purchase" the game's rights for zero. That's free.

Free of course! I've never really liked paying for online! :S

LOL. This paid online crap is just a scheme. It has little to do with the games, just the network and servers. Don't get confused about this, the servers you are paying for aren't for game servers, they are for the network servers. So if you subscribe you are just paying for those servers to stay up which is normally sustained by the sales on the network.
In games, they either use a person to person set up where you connect directly to them and just send information back and forth and the only part where a server is used is just to make the initial connection. For many games like COD and the like, there are servers dedicated for that game and they are supplied by Activision in this case, not Playstation or MS. They money to run those comes from the game sales and DLC ect. That is why support is dropped a few years after release, they are put to use for a new game.
You aren't paying for online, you are paying for Sony's or MS's servers that carry your ID which is something that should come with the cost of the console.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Free of course. TBH, Steams free online has all of the features that both PSN and XBL offer and then some, not to mention you don't have to pay a subscription to take advantage of deep Steam sales or other 3rd party sales that work with Steam such as Humble Bundle, Bundle Star, Amazon digital sales, etc. I'm also really keen on the Vita's online, which has all the important features I care about from a quality online setup but doesn't require an online fee.
