Free of course. TBH, Steams free online has all of the features that both PSN and XBL offer and then some, not to mention you don't have to pay a subscription to take advantage of deep Steam sales or other 3rd party sales that work with Steam such as Humble Bundle, Bundle Star, Amazon digital sales, etc. I'm also really keen on the Vita's online, which has all the important features I care about from a quality online setup but doesn't require an online fee.
