If they make it well worth it by bombarding you with stuff until you HAVE to have $50 worth of stuff you like in a year like PS+ then I'm all for it. I'm not paying primarily for the pleasure of their online network though. My PS+ for this year is already going to pay for itself if I enjoy Valiant Hearts, Yakuza 4, or Oddworld when I get to them. I already had a great time with Ducktales and numerous others this year and these $10-$15 indies add up fast. Not to mention the AAA stuff I'm getting on PS3.

I'd prefer a subscriber model if it meant a stable connection, regular server updates, and being able to play games even after the life of a console is over.

All of that withstanding, free in fine.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Thankfully PS3 and Vita get the best of both worlds

This gen definitely free. Especially since Wii U's internet tends to be better than XboxL and PSN recently...

Even then, I would prefer to have free. Mainly because I don't want digital games and also because what if I stop playing games for a few months? All that membership goes to waste. So if I have to pay for it, I always feel obligated to play as much online as I can.

Yeah Nintendo has the better online, except for all the features they are missing and the fact that they are missing a majority of popular online games. Does it even have dedicated servers? And yes, the servers will always be more stable when you have far less people using them.

I also hate this argument that people don't have enough time for the games they already own so why would they want an abundance of free games being thrown at them every month. No one is forcing you to play those games and yeah you might not have time for them but how is it a bad thing that you are given the option to use them when you want. People said the same thing about how they like The Order being short since they don't have time to play 20-30 hour games as if you're forced to play it in one sitting. No one has enough time to play every game they want but the way I see it, the more options I have the better. I don't ever wanna be put in a situation where I run out of games to play.

Why on Earth would I prefer to pay when I can get the same for free?

I'm a happy psplus suscriptor but what if One day i decide i don't want it anymore. can i play online with the ps4 then?

The answer is no and that combined with stupid console game prices compared to PC's ones are why every time there's more people that builds their own rig and leaves behind peasantry.

The free version, unless the paid version is more stable and gets more frequent upgrades.

So then you prefer the paid version?

I only pay for PS+ because Sony requires it for online play on PS4.  Would rather have free online than subscriptions anyday.

Free. I barely play online. I probably won't be resubbing for a little while.

Yes, haha. I tried to put it more subtle.
