Forums - Gaming - Mass Effect 4 Xbox One Exclusivity Is A Rumor, Game 'Feels' Like Mass Effect

I am still angry with MS for not buying Bioware and making them a 1st party developer. They could've had some great înhouse collaboration with other like 343i.

LOL they are owned by EA, who if you haven't noticed, kinda likes them.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

I can't see this happening for a few reasons: 1) Titanfall was hamstrung by the X1 install base and only sold 2.5M units, By the time of release (2016?), there's a very real chance there will be 40-50M PS4s and 20-30X1s sold, and 3) Destiny sold almost 2X copies on PS4 as X1 (4.6M vs. 2.5M), which would have required MS to pay Bungie ~120MM to offset lost sales (with a much smaller install base).

It's possible, just seems very unlikely that both parties would be willing to bite that bullet.

Apparently EA didn't learn from Titanfall if this turns out to be true (which I doubt it is)

I don't get comments like this, Titanfall really did pretty well!

But a multiplatform release would have done so much better. How much did MS pay for exclusivity?

When you say "Feels like Mass Effect" you need to be more specific. Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3? They all felt fairly different from one another...

You do have a point. Personally I prefer the Mass Effect 3 with a side of Mass Effect 1's rpg elements.

Bio ware sees the sales of DA:I which the PS4 version is outselling all other combined. MS is going to pay a major chunk of change for any exclusive on any genre let alone an RPG.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

If it came out on Xb1 and pc, I would be alright, just play it on my laptop. If it was timed exclusive ( a la TR) I would be ticked off but i can wait it out. Let's hope it stays a rumor.

I doubt that EA would agree to even a timed Mass Effect 4 exclusivity to the xbone unless MS throws stupid amounts of money at EA. PS4's userbase is too large for companies to ignore.

2016:

- Mass Effect 4
- Phantom Dust
- Scalebound
- Gears of War 4
- Forza Motorsport 6
- Crackdown 3

Too much for one year.

How is that "too much for one year"?  That sounds like a perfectly balanced lineup... we'd probably see Scalebound, Phantom Dust and Crackdown 3 in the first half of the year, maybe one of those into late summer / early 2nd half like July or August, and then Gears 4 in September, Forza 6 in October, and ME4 in November, as all 3 of those franchises are known to launch in those months.

Unless M$ had another big release planned for the holidays that year and ME slips to Q1 2017, but I don't think that would happen.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I'd replace Forza 6 with Horizon 3. I'm pretty confident FM6 comes out this year.

Oh, and that's certainly not too much for one year.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Mass Effect was the best new IP last gen for me. Can't wait for it to hit.
