What does this even mean?

What it says. Nintendo's attitude with the Wii and the Wii U was that they should be building it for them and them exclusively, in their minds, if a 3rd party company wanted to get a game out for the Wii U it was entirely their problem, they expected 3rd party to give an unnecesary amount of effort into a simple port, they expected them to adapt to their rules, and for these companies to be forced to follow Nintendo's saying whenever Nintendo felt like doing something.

OK. Examples?
|
Every single 3rd party game that came out on the 360, PS3, XOne, PS4, PC, but not the Wii U. I never said that these companies would stand for Nintendo's BS, if Nintendo thinks they're expandable, it's just fair that they would do the same.

I still have no idea what you're suggesting Nintendo is doing so selfishly. What are you suggesting Nintendo do, moneyhat third party devs and publishers to get multiplatform games onto Wii U? That would be the exact opposite of smart. I could understand if you're saying Nintendo should work closer with third parties (oh by the way, who saved Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third, and funded the Wonderful 101? Who allowed the use of the Mario IP in Tekken Tag 2? Who allows all developers to push out free patches and updates to their games? Who worked with Tecmo and funded Other M and Ninja Gaiden: Razor's Edge? I've got more), but if you're saying kowtow to the demands of publishers like Activision and EA, you can forget it. That's how we wind up with Origin on Nintendo's network, and things like online passes, no used games or other insane DRM policies, and games broken at launch but workable just enough to allow us to buy Day-1 DLC. That's also how we wind up with three superexpensive triplet consoles that barely set themselves apart from each other, and become little more than AC, Madden and COD machines because no one can afford to take a chance on anything not guaranteed to sell at least 8 million copies.
Are you saying the Wii U is a difficult console to program for? I hear that it's stylistically similar to the 360, and Ubisoft has gone on record saying a port should cost less than 1 million USD to put something from PS360 on it. This is the same company that did the Watch_Dogs bait-and-switch, screwed up Assassin's Creed Rogue and made the buggiest version of Tetris ever, on PS4, mind you.

You got me all wrong, I don't want Ninitendo to start kissing any 3rd parties' ass and start accepting any BS thing they throw at them just for the sake of having a game that would sell on their console, Nintendo shouldn't moneyhat anyone, 3rd parties should come willingly without fear of their proyect failing to make business with Nintendo, that's what I wanna see. What I mean when I say that Nintendo built the Wii and Wii U for their use exclusively I mean just that, any other game that could appear on the console and didn't have anything Nintendo behind it was on its own, since for Nintendo, their console shouldn't revolve around those games, their consoles aren't built with that in mind. While in the other hand, Sony and Microsoft knew that they couldn't possibly survive in the market as a big gaming titan all on their own, so they tried to make the developing scene for their consoles inviting, they guarantee that these 3rd parties' proyects have a chance to be successful, something that a small Nintendo-centric user-base and a trickier to program console can't guaratee, even if making a Wii U port isn't all that expensive, it can be unnacesarily time consuming and with a user-base like the Wii U's it can be hard to make a profit off, granted, this is Nintendo's and the 3rd party's fault since most likely they wouldn't care to advertise the thing, but still, you need to recognize that it's hard to sell a port of a game without no visual differences on a console you don't own when most people could buy the same game on a console they already own, PS4 and XOne versions of games don't fall under this because most likely there's a pretty huge difference when it comes to graphics between the 7th and 8th generation version of the same game, and because the PS4 and XOne had proper advertizing that made the public think that they were actually next gen, something that the Wii U never had.
To sum it up, I think that Nintendo doesn't need to "give in", I just think that they need to start to realize that 3rd parties should be the ones asking for their games to be on their console, not the other way around, Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third only exist because Nintendo funded them, I don't count that as WILLING 3rd party support, Nintendo shouldn't feel the need to fund games to fill a 3rd party void, the void shouldn't exist in the first place, and Nintendo should just fund games they find promise on.
