Miyamoto in 2013: "I think where I struggle is that I don’t really have a good idea for what’s new that we could bring to F-Zero that would really turn it into a great game again (...) But I don’t know, at this point, what direction we could go in with a new F-Zero" - http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/20/dont-get-your-hopes-up-for-f-zero
Miyamoto in 2015: "So maybe if we create a new type of controller interface and we find that controller interface is particularly suited for F-Zero, then maybe we’ll do something again with it in the future."
To be honest, the first thing that came to mind with those words were "Tablet F-Zero".
The F-Zero mini-game was the best one in Nintendo Land. So, maybe a Nintendo tablet might be coming?
Yes, it's wild speculation, but who doesn't enjoy it? I know i do!
Now, let's think about it.
What interface haven't they got with Wii U? They have the 3DS, Wii remote, the gamepad and even a pro controller. The only thing missing is:
1 - A tablet
2 - Virtual Reality device
Of the two, i'd bet on the tablet.
Now, Miyamoto is fully aware of plans for next gen handheld and home console and he basically showed that it's no longer the lack of ideas that are keeping us from getting the game.
Could this be a hint that it's coming for a next gen console, be it handheld or home console? Or even one of the above?
I think his comments have a purpose. Whatever it is.
