Forums - Nintendo - Retro basicly just comfirmed a new game announcement coming soon!

I think unique would be a more appropriate word than ambitious because it makes it seem like Retro didn't put in any effort into DK.

I understand what you mean, but people toss that word around unnecessarily. If DK didn't have some sort of ambition, it wouldn't be good at all. (Of course, some say it isn't because of opinions which is fine)

Unique works, but I also want to convey that it was less of a risk. Being their first HD game it makes sense that they wanted to ease into it with something relatively simple. Now that they have experience though, I want to see what they can really pull off on Wii U.

How can you say no to that face?

They best be getting dressed in their fancy metroidsexual attire, getting their cars clean metroil so they can drive through their designated metro area and go in to their jobs, put down their metronometers and metroidnomes to get them pysched up to develp some Metroid.

It was a risk though considering ''everybody wanted Metroid.'' No one expected Donkey Kong. KAPPA

Out of curiosity, why did you find DKCR a better game than Tropical Freeze?

I feel the same way.

while DKC:TF is a great game it somehow lacks the tight and masterful pacing of DKC:R .

DKC:R later levels where full of frenzy and pressure which needed to be mastered. They even played with the expections of the player.

Very special these levels and I missed that type of game design in DKC:TF ...

Another thing: as spectators the Tikas were much more "involved" than the Snowmads.

Little things like these make DKC:R realy outstanding.

I want Metroid with twin stick controls. Just so people can't complain even though the Wiimote/Nunchuck control scheme is good. Also with robust online because Wii U needs a online multiplayer shooter.

I thought there were levels like that in TF. In High Tide Ride, for instance, a platform might appear ahead, then a giant fish jumps up and takes it out at the last second, forcing you to rethink your jump.

I see a potential issue with a Metroid Prime successor: at the time GC / Wii it was a nice "trick" to design a world with less NPCs and a feeling of "loneliness" to work around missing CPU power.

Having played Prime 1 (Trilogy WiiMote/Nunchuck of course) only a half a year ago again it hit me that "upgrading" the Prime series onto the Wii U is much more than just graphics.

Keeping the feel of Prime AND giving it fresh gameplay is a serious task. And if the do - many as I hope that they will stick to the best FPS controls ever invented: WiiMote and Nunchuck. But this might be problematic as Nintendo might want to feature the GamePad...

Splatoon is something which is filling the void of a missing FPS and multiplayer FPS on the Wii U.

But still I would like to see Samus in full HD glory...

Nearly a year since Tropical Freeze.

What if they announce DLC for it? :O

Metroid for the project that started in 2013. Not sure about the remaster.
