FUCK no.

Sorry, Rockstar's games are primarily impressive in the amount of geography they pack into them. As far as actual gameplay mechanics/combat go, they're mediocre at best, and they're at the low end of mediocre at that.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest games of last gen.  Rockstar could do it all for Zelda except maybe puzzles.  Don't know about that.

What? Why? Because they're good at making open-world games? That doesn't mean they can make a good Zelda game.

Agree? Tell me you can't play GTAV for 1,000 of hours before running out of things to do! You cannot...

I played GTA V for five hours before I was fed up. This was wasted money.

I played different Zelda's a long time longer.

But there is more. Zelda is inspiring gamers a lot more than GTA does. Or, how much gamers are inspired to draw art for GTA like this:

How does GTA inspire artists?

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [GTA6]

They could probably make a good game and call it Legend of Zelda but I'm not so sure they could make a good Zelda game.

I wouldn't say Rockstar. Bethesda maybe.

Again, the only thing that impressed me about RDR was the geography, and if I just wanted to look at scenery, I'd play Journey.

I repeat: Rockstar is low mediocre at best when it comes to almost everything else other than setting. They're good at that, I'll give them that much.

The irony then of your username lol.  But I digress.

I thought the pacing and themeing of the game was fantastic.  It nailed the old west pretty perfectly and the side missions and activites were very enjoyable (Duels, Poker, Hunting).  The world felt alive with the wild animals that would attack you randomly, as well as the random encounters with strangers.  It also had a great soundtrack.

It's a play on my real name, which is why I picked it. I didn't like the actual game. Oh, well.

Like I said, it did nail down setting pretty well, and that's something that they've always done right. In terms of actual game mechanics, it was also a Rockstar game: clunky combat, thumb-breaking controls, and missions that just weren't all that interesting. I want Rockstar to stay far, far away from Zelda.

Good god, no. I've just been discovering Bethesda's games this past year - I don't want Zelda to turn into something that crashes every few hours, glitches every 15 minutes and has hundreds of locations that all look like copy-pastes of each other. Nononononononono.

Not to mention they remaster their games after a year of release. No thanks.
