The latest trends in gameland seems to be that all lineair games should be thrown in the garbage bin, not that I'm agreeing with that. Secondly a game should always have a multiplayer or be innovative these days, so that's already 3 flaws for the order. Lately there has been a new trend of intrest and that's the trend against QTE. So the order has already made three fatal flaws before it even releases. Funny enough no-one mentions either of these flaws in known IP's but if a new IP releases with those faults it's already doomed to fail especially the order 1886. Most people already wrote the game off while they've not seen 10 minutes of gameplay.

So even if the order 1886 turns out to be great, then it will be at best the game sonyfans deserve but not the one they need right now. Do you think this game could achieve the batman status or do you think the game will be a total failure because of legitimate reasons.

Or could the game become a critical succes if gameplay turns out to be solid. Personally I think the game is already doomed to score lower than 80 due to the reasons I explained, which ironically are all into bayonetta 2 which scores over 90, I own and love the game.

I think we just need batman right now :D.  Speaking of which, my uncle has gone to the pharmacy to get me some more of that special something.

I dont mind linear. Just needs to be good. While Im not interested in TO 1886 it isnt because its linear as i dont think that is an issue.

linear >> open world in my book. i generally avoid open world games. i like semi open linearity though like in tomb raider. i could always go off the path i suppose but the game was really quite linear.

i need an object to enjoy a game. the idea of just wandering around a sandbox with no objective is the absolute most boring gameplay in the world.

I end up wasting my time and procrastinating in open world games because I can't be arsed moving on to the next story mission. So I appreciate linear games for forcing me out of my procrastinating ways. I'm already 24 hrs into Shadow of Mordor and I haven't gone onto phase 2 of the story. It's just so damned fun running around killing Orcses. I got robbed of my first graug kill because a frikkin' caragor pounced on it after I'd stunned it.

OT, I don;t mind QTE's one bit. I am fine with them in GoW, I was fine with them in Heavenly Sword, I was fine with Heavy Rain. QTE's have their place in game design, they just need to not be in every game. I'll be fine with QTE's in The Order.

I'm actually starting to crave a linear adventure game a bit. So far this year the closest I've got to that is Tomb Raider and that was back in Feb, and it is not a linear game. I could have done with The Order now, but then again I will have Dragon Age tomorrow and I would play this in preference to The Order any day. So being early next year The Order is coming along at about the right time for me. As long as the story is solid and the characters are engaging I'm sure I will like it.

Gameplay just doesn't look that great. Seems like a rental or bargain bin buy to me.

Linear games are not bad by default. The Order just so happens to be a linear game that looks rather bad from what's been shown so far (which is admittedly very little but...what does that tell you in and of itself?)

It tells me that certain people are judging a game based on very little information. I wonder why?

And what, if I may ask, are we all supposed to be judging the game on? And is it not equally misrepresentative to hold a positive outlook based on what we have seen thus far?

Judge whatever you want. No one's stopping you. I just think we should wait until we see more of the game.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I don't expect the review scores to be great. Will probably land somewhere around InFamous Second Son as far as scores go. I'm excited for it though and will buy it day one!

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Because that's what they've given us to judge it by. The game is only like 3 months away, so chances are you're not going to be seeing much in terms of new demos or preview builds, so what they've shown so far is really all anyone can judge it by, other than the glamorous launch trailers all titles get around release.

The fact that they haven't given any outlets a chance to play anything other than the demo they all seem to be ripping apart in previews over and over again tells anyone who's paying attention all they need to know. The rest of the game simply isn't magically going to be a whole different experience than what's been shown.

That's just being realistic
