Final fantasy 7 remake demo is out now!

in Sony Discussion on 04 March 2020

Regarding any complaints about the locking on or camera there are quite a lot of battle configuration options. Try messing around with them. There's one for a larger field of view for instance. One for options on fixed lock or something like that. Options to change how you can change targets and more. Don't just throw in the towel so easily. ...

I loved it and thats all that mathers 😘, is such a polished game and runs great with no frame rate drops. Square did a great job. Exactly. Ocarina of Time vs Final Fantasy 7

in Gaming Discussion on 15 February 2020

Dulfite said: I wonder what the results would be if we got to vote between their modern flagship games, FFXV and Botw. This has already happened too many times. Botw would win (this is also a more Nintendo prone site), but it would be much closer if things weren't the way there are with the FF fanbase on the forums.  Pretty sure the hardcore FF fans scared off most of the...

Difficulty vs Accessibility: A responsibility for the developers, not for the players.

in Gaming Discussion on 13 February 2020

I think another side to this is something along the lines of Necessity vs Playability. Difficulty keeps necessity in line, but without a decent amount of playability a game can feel too restrictive. Too many game mechanics can make some parts to a game feel inconsequential or like you're overpowered perhaps, but personally I'd op for that vs a game that practically wants you to play the game...

Game of the decade: The 1990s

in Gaming Discussion on 04 February 2020

FF7 easily. It's not just a very fun consistently engaging game with great pacing. It didn't just revolutionize the RPG genre but the entire landscape of video games. It was the first game to push the idea out in the mainstream that games could be more than just great gameplay; they could also have stories and soundtracks that can rival and eclipse movies and books. It nails every main aspect...

    Revisiting Final Fantasy 13

in Gaming Discussion on 22 January 2020

It's very linear down to its core and has some pretty questionable characters in how they react and how they're portrayed, but it's an overall solid game. The story is very engaging and has a very saga-ish feel unto itself. The soundtrack is outstanding and the main combat is good in its own way and very unique.  Satisfying especially when you stagger bosses and start laying tons of extra...

Your game of the decade (2010-2019)

in Gaming Discussion on 26 December 2019

Easily Nier Automata. The game has everything I could want in a game and excels beyond what I expected it to. One of the greatest stories ever told in a game (or anywhere for that matter), god tier sound track, gameplay about as good and clean as it gets, and game design that constantly keeps you on your toes with its different genres and perspectives. Different perspectives that reflect back...

    The Evergrowing Backlog of 2019

in Gaming Discussion on 22 December 2019

Yeah my backlog keeps on growing too but I've gotten a better hold on it recently. I basically consider it like this: If a game is more of a spur of the moment and I buy it cheap it's likely not going to get played for a while; or at least finished but I'll get it at a good deal because it may interest me. If a game is a high priority and I buy it full or close to full price I'm likely...
