Linear games are not bad by default. The Order just so happens to be a linear game that looks rather bad from what's been shown so far (which is admittedly very little but...what does that tell you in and of itself?)

It tells me that certain people are judging a game based on very little information. I wonder why?

Because that's what they've given us to judge it by. The game is only like 3 months away, so chances are you're not going to be seeing much in terms of new demos or preview builds, so what they've shown so far is really all anyone can judge it by, other than the glamorous launch trailers all titles get around release.

The fact that they haven't given any outlets a chance to play anything other than the demo they all seem to be ripping apart in previews over and over again tells anyone who's paying attention all they need to know. The rest of the game simply isn't magically going to be a whole different experience than what's been shown.

That's just being realistic

No that's just what Sony does. They haven't been giving the press much to play all year. Look at Infamous Second Son, up until right around the launch previews were all the same demo over and over again. They don't like showing off much of their games for fear of spoilers.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Insn't this like Gears of War? That's linear, and fantastic.

I think a bigger problem is having no multiplayer.

Whatever demos they gave people for inFamous (and I really have no idea how many there were), it was sufficient in showing everyone what the game was all about, and the previews I read at the time all pretty much line up with reviews after release in terms of reception, so my point to you stands.

The Order isn't going to release and suddenly be something entirely different than what they've made it look like so far (and publishers usually try to make things look as best they can), and what it looks like so far is pretty mediocre according to most.

nothing wrong with linear games, favorite game of 2013 was TLOU, and so far wolfenfstein is right near the top of the list for 2014. That might be because i went into it with lower expectations, and only rented it, but it was still one of the more enjoyable games this year. i cant wait to see what the order brings

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

I couldn't care less. I'm going to love it. My hands-on time was fantastic, and I love the team. I think they could become the next Naughty Dog, in fact.

It's sad that a cynical and broken community are trying to stomp on them out of ignorance at every turn.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be a short story with pretty graphics like Killzone Shadowfall.

Well it looks terrible. Linearity needs to go and qtes were always a godawful idea. It's a game that wants to be a movie, much like sony's other notable cinematic stink bombs , uncharted and the last of us. Pass.

Utter drivel.

The PS5 Exists.

I think TO devs should release another demo or another video because what they showed up til now looks more like a demonstration of their engine than anything else.

Or could the game become a critical succes if gameplay turns out to be solid. Personally I think the game is already doomed to score lower than 80 due to the reasons I explained, which ironically are all into bayonetta 2 which scores over 90, I own and love the game.

I mean, Bayo2 proves that a linear, solo game can indeed accomplish amazing things. So if Order scores piss-poor or not will be on its own shoulders, not some perceived bias against this style of gameplay. Captain Toad will soon release as a completely single-player, offline experience and I wouldn't be remotely surprised if it scored very, very highly.
