I don't they scored any points by not admitting their mistake and trying to make it up to gamers either; they are showing a frightfully low lever of concern for their customers, not unlike EA during the Battlefield disasters and Blizzard during the Diablo III troubles at launch.

No, they do use the full scale. The majority of games aren't bad though. Very few are, so very few get below a 5.
I'm getting really good at picking which games will be good and which won't before release.

Sadly, the game will still sell millions, and Ubisoft will take this as a green light to continue screwing consumers.
