too little examples, from declining series. and still ignoring the tittles that sold well on wii u and the ones that sold bad on ps4/x1.

Alright, one last word. :-p

What multiplats sold well on Wii U? Rayman Legends and Just Dance?

There are multiplat games that sell poorly on PS4 and X1, but more importantly there are very successful multiplats on those platforms. To the contrary, the same IPs doing big numbers on 360, PS3, PS4, and X1 fail on Wii U. End of story.

The lack of Wii U support represents reality. Not enough people bought the multiplat that came to Wii U.

Last I checked, ff 13-3 sold less on x360 than many multiplats on wii u and SE is still putting those games on the far less successfull x1. FF 15 and type 0 on wii u are obvious choices because of the bigger japan installed base and general audience. you also have to remember that even the low cost non numbered FF crystal chronicles sold more than a million on gamecube.

kingdom hearts hasnt been released on a sony home console for a long time, so the audience is not there (or at least is not obvious that is there). see how your first point is baseless now? also, KH was never on a xbox console. the fact stands that kingdom hearts always sells well on nintendo handhelds and it makes absolute sense to have a version of KH 3 on wii u. being the lead home console in japan helps.

Revelations was a late 3ds port, thus all post 3ds versions lost potential. but the important part is that the wii u version sold half of what the 360 version sold, with it's 10x+ bigger installed base. now compare wii u vs xone installed bases, especially in japan. you can either argue that it shouldn't be on neither wii u nor x1, or that it should be on wii u, but not x1 (that is, if you want to exclude at least one platform).

FF15 would require an extensive re-work to make it run on the Wii U, an expensive one, while porting between PS4 and X1 requires just a resolution change  and minor tweeks. The japanese audience for the Wii U is bigger, but the types of games that they are buying are not making a strong argument for traditional genres.

Kingdom Hearts just got 2 remasters on the PS3 (1.5 and 2.5) and both got pretty good sales, so the audience is there, Sony and Square are working to keep it there. Same porting issue, between PS4 and X1 minor stuff, but from those to Wii U major changes.

Revelations 2 should not be on X1 or Wii U, but they have more faith on the X1 and I don't blame them, even with a smaller install base many of the third party games sold a lot of copies, and is just logical to think that the same will happen again.

just no. you people should stop this thought that porting to wii u is something out of this world. resolution and minor tweeks is exactly what porting to wii u should be. and I just told you revelations sold very little on the 360, only double of the wii u version and its much smaller base, yet say it's logical to put it on x1 and skip wii u?

rayman, sonic all stars racing, lego games, resident evil revelations are examples that sold comparably or better than the ps360 versions, wich is no small feat when you consider the installed bases. your cod, AC and batman examples sold quite less than the other consoles versions but they still sold well.

"To the contrary, the same IPs doing big numbers on 360, PS3, PS4, and X1 fail on Wii U. End of story." again two or 3 examples don't make a generalist argument, and they're not failing on wii u.

"The lack of Wii U support represents reality. Not enough people bought the multiplat that came to Wii U." not enough multiplat came to wii u and that's reality. you are just cherry picking to shape your ideas.

It is actually a big work, if they use a standard engine that is already available for the console (unreal 3, anvil next, cryengine) the workload is lower but if they are not using those engines the task is very big, the architectures are very different and the processing power is very low if you compare them. Most likely FF15 will run at 720p on X1 and PS4, how low do you want to take the resolution for it to run on Wii U? 480p at 15 fps?, texture resolution would have to be downgraded, 3D models redesigned with less polygons and many other time consuming task.

Remember that Revelations 2 is scheduled for release as a digital game and later as a disc based format, the online crowd is more active on the X1, add that most likely you will require a hard drive to download the game and that the Wii U does not have one by default, and yes it makes more sense to bring it to the full install base of the X1, that a partial install base (only those with a hard drive) of the Wii U, there is just less risk.

60$ I think I will have to pass on this one.

I should really keep a wishlist of all the good 3rd party ports Wii U got around launch, though. So far Ninja Gaiden, Deus Ex, Batman, and Black OPS II are on my lists. Are there any others I'm missing?

Need for Speed: Most Wanted U, Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, and the port of Mass Effect 3 is actually not bad.

$60 seems a tad steep. You can get the PS4 version on Amazon for less than $40 :/

The digital version was on sale for $14.99 for deals with Gold a couple of weeks back on the X1.

engines are scalable. and even if a game ran at 720p on ps4/x1, it wouldn't be anywhere near 480p on wii u, more like 600-640p with some tweeks. you are again trying to make porting look like alien tech. and to put in perspective, we can already see wii u rendering xenoblade chronicles x at 720p. the most probable scenario is FF 15 900-1080p on ps4/x1 and 720p on wii u.

Bingo! Your examples of multiplat success on Wii U are kid friendly games, that shows what Wii U audiences are interested in. Rest assured those are still coming to Wii U.

RE Revelations was a flop on 360 and Wii U. That wasn't a Wii U success story.

The X1 has a smaller userbase than Wii U and still does a significantly better job at moving multiplat software. The Wii U is good at moving Nintendo games and other family friendly games.

in case you didn't notice, YOUR cod, AC and batman examples are in the same range of those "kid friendly games". and even tough multi, third party games like zombi U, monster hunder, lego city and bayonetta 2 sold much more than those examples.

you are just spinning things to make it seems like the wii u audience doesn't buy every kind of game.
