You see, that's the point.  You and others seem to think that having any opinion that is  either 1. The PS4 will win the Holiday in the US or 2. the XB1 may win, but it will be so close that it doesn't matter.  So, anyone who states something contrary to either of those lines is now Outlandish.  It's OK for you to have your opinion that toastboy is wrong.  But, it is equally OK for toatboy to have that opinion.  If every piece of information (sales data) was so easily deciphered as you imply, there would be no need to ever wait for NPD or other tracking data.  You imply that you know that toastboy is being Outlandish with his claims, yet you have nothing to prove him wrong.

Just to be honest, I also disagree that the gap will be erased.  But, I do think that it is possible that the gap can be reduced significantly in the US during this 2 month period.

Npd will be the proof.... The 360 never came close to outselling the more expensive and less popular ps3 near that much.  The ps4 is going to have a big holiday.  It is a silly prediction and I time  will show this.  No one who thinks logically believes this. In order for this to happen x1 would have to break records 5 times over.... It's not feasible.

If PS4 sold zero units for 3-4 weeks (say December) in the US Xbox would most likely have a chance to outsell the US install base. Which obviously ain't happening . I just don't see PS4 being outsold 1 Million + .

People are blowing those rankings from a day and a half at a time waaaaaaaay out of proportion. Did you really expect it to not get a spike for at least 2 weeks from that price drop? There will be plenty of PS4 bundles by Black Friday. Sony MAY lose November but that's pretty much the only maybe at this point. Xbox won't sell a million more consoles in the US between now and January. That's simply impossible.

I think X1 will outsell PS4 in the US, not sure by how much though. Probably 3 or 4 Xbox's to every 2 Playstations.

In the UK in fairly certain they will be equal. Im from england and have a pretty good gauge on the demand for both systems, as I work part time in a GAME store. In the past PS4 has had the lead but not a very substancial one, and recently Xbox One has been outperforming it, again though, by a small margin. I think sales will be on par for both.

In the rest of europe though, that is PS territory, more so this generation than last. I'm certian that PS4 will outsell X1 there.

Anyway, In US Xbox will outsell, maybe enough to close the gap, but we'll have to see.
