I believe that the Xbox One does have a great chance of surpassing the PS4 in sales for November. No doubt about it. It has compelling software with bundles to match that temporary price cut. However, those that are saying that it will close the gap within 2 months are going to be severely disappointed. It's unrealistic.

Still, I hope the Xbox One does great, as well as the PS4. We know both will be great this month regardless.

That's FAR from the only thing, or the main thing, but it is a factor I'm absolutely sure. I've been to several Walmarts in the area in recent days and it's been true at each location.

The other things to ask : what is the baseline demand? How many people were waiting for an X1, but wanted a good deal (price cut + bundled game?). Will the demand be satiated in a few days/weeks, or will it become a new baseline?

I am thinking X1 will edge a win in November, lose slightly in December, and fail hard in 2015 until the holidays again.

And no, nobody believes that this is a 'temporary' price cut either, that's bunk. $399 can never happen again, I don't know who they think they're fooling with that line of BS. $299 will almost certainly hit by E3 2015 as well.

True its bs, but it achives what they want.  Sale now to those waiting for a deal.

yeah but no one believed MS would be so stupid after a year of rumors in May and June 2013 and yet they impressed us all.  Let's wait and see what they do.

Won't repeat what was already said. Instead of talking worldwide where we know xbone is crushed and always will be, focus on USA. And there you can see right now (4 nov) with price cut and all, it's not doing as good as it was this last three days. So right now even in US, it's seems that PS4 still leading.

I've been one of those guys who believes MS is poise to take back NA from Sony but even I believe it won't happen in just 2 months. Its not like the PS4 won't sell during those times too.

Well it isnt bad that the trust of consumers is pretty hard to earn after that awfull E3 and alot of crazy PR following on that.If it was easy to win us over then would they have changed all of their bad moves?

No...no it can not. PS4 is not just going to stop selling. Even if the X1 wins an NPD or two(I'm still not convinced it will, especially when Sony announces their deals) I can't see it closing an over 1 million gap in 2 months
