Looks like abenomics is failing badly.

Why? Game consoles are a luxury items and not necessarily show the situation on the whole economics. They can also be strongly influenced by changes in taste (from consoles to smartphones in our case), distribution of wealth, level of savings and some other stuff.

While that's one way to look at it. I interpret it as people having less disposable income to spend on luxury items: games.

WiiU should be reaching 2m LTD sales in Japan soon, no?

PS4 over WiiU again. All is good in the world

Congrats on winning the NIT!

Anyways, looking at the steep drop off between #3 and #4, this week was very much a "rich get richer" scenario.

Those WiiU sales though.... :S

You can detect that much better in necessary items like food or clothing. If you look at the whole market, people get more expensive food or clothing and generally more of it, if they have more income.

Luxury items can sell well even in bad economics in situations with uneven distribution of wealth. The rich buy luxury, while the poor starve. In the case of gaming console it is much simpler: focus switches from one luxury item to another - away from gaming consoles I fear.

Waiting for Japan sales became a sad thing, I mean wtf, not a single device will be up YoY.

And SW is not doing good either, don't be fooled by the top 3, those are quite bad sales.

And Bayonetta is already out of the top 30. Meh!

Vita can be YoY up

Yeah, may be the only one. Yet, going by MC, it has a 148.323 lead, and this week it was 16.372 lower, there are 10 weeks left right? I think it'll be close.

Btw, when was the remake of FF X  released?

It'll be close many of us thought it be very high at years end and a great YoY for 2014 (the first 9 months were really great this year).

I got a thread here for that "Vita Japan YoY HW Status: [Week 42] 947k vs 799k. (*147k Difference)" http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=191035&page=1

FFX was released Week 50 or 51 i think (end of Dec).

Anyway for some good news, SSB 3DS is  currently at 1.61mil on MC and 1.68mil on Famitsu. Digital sales should be over 100k for SSB.... In just its first 3 days. Im waiting on Famitsu to bring out the digital sales next week! It could mean SSB is already close to 1.8mil or 1.9mil :)
