Skyward Sword came out 5 years after the Wii came out. It is clearly one of the best looking games on the console.

I'd definitely contest that. It had an interesting art style, but technically there are much better examples of the Wii being pushed late in its life, I reckon.

Well, I'd say that Xenoblade Cronicles looks better, but I can't really think of another example... Care to share?

If we're talking purely technological terms (art is down to personal preference) of pushing the hardware, I'd say Jett Rocket, Conduit 2, Metroid Other M, FAST Racing League, Modern Warfare 3 all push the Wii harder than Skyward Sword.

I do agree with your point though, that the Wii's most technically advanced games didn't emerge until it's 3rd, 4th, and 5th years on the market. The same will happen with Wii U, I expect.

Lol this is so ridiculous. Did the N64 just lay down and die when DC and PS1 were murdering it in technical capabilities? Hell no, it gave us many of the best games of all time. Did they quickly pull the plug when Wii was the only SD console of the generation? Nope. Its the games that matter, and you don't need any greater level of performance than Wii U to pull off great games. The Wii U is going to have at LEAST a 4 year lifespan (5 most likely), so all these people who keep  proclaiming/demanding a new Nintendo console is right around the corner are just shit out of luck. Not happening anytime before Xmas 2016.

So because current games have 'performance issues' this indicates that the WiiU is maxed out....? Using this logic the PS3 was maxed out from the outset.

I don't think this guy understands the principle that he is talking about. Performance issues merely indicate you are hitting performance limits or bottlenecks with your existing code our techniques.

Given the number of 60fps games on the WiiU you could argue it is fact further from being maxed out than the competition.

Glad to be helpful, haha. :)

Conduit 2 came out in 2011, towards the end of Wii's lifespan. It's a bit rough around the edges, with an inconsistent tone and some glitches, but the gunplay feels great and the graphics are among the most technically advanced on the system:

A bit?, I damn nearly cut my eyeball looking at that.

Why is Hyrule Warriors being talked about at all? That game doesn't do anything to push the Wii U hardware limits.

Weak article.

Nintendo doesn't ''push hardware'' in most of their titles. They work comfortably within its boundaries to achieve the look their looking for.

I would agree though, they really have no ambitions with the gamepad. Such a massive mistake on their behalf.
