I'm pretty satisfied with what I've seen so far. Then again, I'm just happy that there's going to be a PC version so it didn't take much to make me happy.

| Nem said: You guys want to drag me to a technical discussion that is not the one i am talking about. I look at the gameplay and from my perspective its more of the same. As much as you sugar coat it with these subtle gameplay changes, they are only interesting when you are playing in a more hardcore fashion. I know that no matter what you are saying here, when i go to play the game it will feel just like Tekken 3, just like 5 did and like 6 did. I am bored of it. Sorry but thats how i feel. I dont think theres anything inherently wrong in voicing that opinion, nor do i need to be a hardcore player to be able to do that. |
I dunno... guess we should just agree to disagree. Cause I don't know how to tel you that what you are complaining about is not something you should complain about in fighting games.
What makes a new entry of any fighting series different and the small changes they make to the game system and the new chracters they put in. The entire game is for the most part still supposed to feel the exact same. If I am use Paul in tekken 3, i don't want him to feel like i am using law in tekken 6. This applies to every single fightin ggmae out tehre. If they change the kinda things you are talking about, then the seris is no longer true to itself.
If you want different, then simply use the new characters they include in every installment. Having said that, you saying tekken feels "the same" is in no way a bad thing. The most different feeling and hated teken of them all was tekken 4. And they dd good righting that ship with tekken 5.
You are entitled to your opinion, and anyone is also entitled to disagree with you. I just don't really get what you are saying.... ah well.
@Nem
I completely agree instrinic. Your complaining about Tekken being Tekken. You havent even taken the next step in giving any idea in what you would expect them to do. Tekken is a fighting game are more so than any other genre, fighters remain true their core design.
Street fighter
MK
Soul Calibur
Virtua Fighter
Guilty Gear
BlazeBlu
King of Fighters
Bloody Roar
SMASH BROS
The list goes on. Each installment to these series are nothing but minor updates to the core design. Core design never changes. Tekken 6 feels like 5, which feels like 3 , which feels like 2, which feels like the original .... Well yea

Uh no, Bound turned Tekken into "who can get the combo first". They made no game mechanic in which players can get free... thats dumb ... so if you get caught in a combo your at mercy of the opponent. If they can juggle/bound you to a wall.. Consider match over. |
Uh, yes.
If the game was who can get the first combo, then bound wouldn't change it. You should stop sucking at the game. When I first played and sucked at Tekken 6, practiced quite a bit, thought I got better then played against a friend who was good at it. I used the complaint that the moment they get you into a combo it's over. That's not because it was true, it's because I sucked. I can go play against high level players and while I'll still lose the majority of the time, once they get me in a combo and I hit the ground, it's not over like it was when I was new at the game. They get me against a wall, it's not over. Obviously with a player on the ground or a player against the wall you have an advantage, but that's it, an advantage, not a win.
I'm no Tekken pro, far from it, even stated above I'm a little bit higher than scrub level. i'm decent with a few characters and know the mechanics.
I really hope it is coming on WiiU. We need that game!

This is the exact thing I've trying to put across in that FFXV thread, the core mechanics of the gameplay is being changed, that is not what people want.
Bound to me was a core mechanic being changed. Before 'juggling' was even a term to me in Tekken, to hit someone in the air was just part of the game but to make it a core mechanic didn't fit for me.
Hmm, pie.

Just because he didn't like 'Bound' doesn't mean he wouldn't be good at the game. I hated it, I learnt 1, maybe 2, bound combos with my main character of choice but other then that used tried and tested Tekken gameplay to win online and I won most my fights. I still think the idea of bound was broken because there was no way to stop it if it happened. Tekken Tag 2 was a joke with that, it's not fun just to sit and watch as you are pummeled just for not blocking a mid.
Hmm, pie.
