Forums - Gaming - First footage of TEKKEN 7 + Rage and Power Clash detailed. NEW character Claudio

I liked bound combos. It's really no different than doing an attack that hits you up into the air so you can combo off of, this one just bounces you off the ground so you can start a juggle. The amount of damage players do reduce after the first few hits and the players get knocked further away each hit, so there's a pretty much a damage barrier regardless what combo they do.

Scrub players, which I'll admit I'm an intermediate scrub, should love the bound system because it gives them more possibilities of actually doing a combo chain. Instead they complain about it and get the feature removed from Tekken 7 because they don't like the look of it. Thanks for making it hard to get decent in Tekken again scrubs :(.

Uh no,

Bound turned Tekken into "who can get the combo first". They made no game mechanic in which players can get free... thats dumb ... so if you get caught in a combo your at mercy of the opponent. If they can juggle/bound you to a wall.. Consider match over.

So far the game looks like a beefed up version of TTT2, but things can change later down the line. What i am really disappointed is in the new characters. Claudio looks more like an alternate costume for Maxi and Catalina looks like a lamer version of Christie.

Good quality video posted on GAF, the visuals really pop in this one.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

It looks very good !

The characters look bigger. It looks interesting, but the gameplay is still the same and unfortunely i got worn out of it with Tekken 3, 4 and 5.

Funny you say that... unless you want them to change fundamental move sets and systems of tekken (thats like saying they should make hadoken a grab in streetfighter instead of a projectile) then I don't know what you are talking about. Cause Tekken 3, 4 (especially), 5 and you didn't add 6 play NOTHING like eachother.

Tekken 3 was everything tekken should be; the perfect tekken. Tekken 4 added position grapples and walls, in addition to wall pushes and/or grabs and different arena elevations, also expanded on just frame moves. Tekken 5 was tekken 3 on steroids, some say this is the best tekken ever made. Tekken 6 added the bound system and rage (or was this in tekken 5). Anyways the bound system practically completely changed the games combo system, for better or for worse.

I'm very casual on my 3D fighters. While Tekken 4 had a different control scheme with up going in the background, 5 went back to what 3 was, just like 6. Generally they play the same. I'm sure that an in-depth fan will find them different, but essentially there was no change to the formula. The cases you talk about are mostly situational and balance changes.

I think the combat system needs a shake up to make it interesting for me again. I could sugest a bar and some supers ala Soul Calibur V but i know Tekken fans will twitch with anger over that. Its a game for the fans i suppose. I guess i'm not enough of a fan for it to be for me.

I do like the new hit special effects though. Makes it look more visceral. Kind of reminds me of Killer instinct, but not so over the top.

Won't complain about that. Can't wait.

No bound? Fantastic. Useless mechanic.

Hmm, pie.

That Xiaoyu Feng video shows the style of the characters a lot, Xiaoyu is being Feng loads yet only for 5 hits later, she's dead.

Hmm, pie.

You just come off sounding like someone that was never really good at the tekken series Then again you say you're very casual on your 3d fighters.

First off, if you are a casual gamer on any 3D fighter you aren't really in th ebest position to talk gameplay changes. And a super bar in tekken??????? No no no no no no and no, if you want super bars I can recommend at least 5 fighetrs that have those in them for you. Dunno why some gamers want every game to be like eachother.

You can still walk into the background, just that insteda of just holding up like you did it Tekken 4, you double taped up or down and held the button down at the second tap to continue walking in that directing. This way, single tapping and holding up still remains straight jump up. And those postional and balance changes you so nicely dismissed, is really what makes every fightings games combat system what they are.

Its ok not to be a fan of tekkn, nothing wrong with that, I am not a fan of street fighter. I am just pointing out that what you are saying about tekken isn't exactly true or what you r are complaining about it isn't actually reasonable.

You guys want to drag me to a technical discussion that is not the one i am talking about.

I look at the gameplay and from my perspective its more of the same. As much as you sugar coat it with these subtle gameplay changes, they are only interesting when you are playing in a more hardcore fashion.

I know that no matter what you are saying here, when i go to play the game it will feel just like Tekken 3, just like 5 did and like 6 did. I am bored of it. Sorry but thats how i feel. I dont think theres anything inherently wrong in voicing that opinion, nor do i need to be a hardcore player to be able to do that.
