Any source for that??????????????

>Relied on VGChartz numbers for this

>Famitsu has it at ~27k LtD, according to a certain Japan LtD tracking site.

What a terribly useless article, using data from media create/famitsu for the 1st week and then vgchartz data for ltd.

That Japan tracking site, is that garaph?

Doesn't VGC get its Japan data from media create and famitsu? I thought they just averaged the two.

As long as the games appear in the charts there, yes.

DK: Tropical Freeze did almost exactly the same and is still sitting at under 700k globally and that's an established Nintendo franchise with decent legs...
There simply is no way of spinning Bayonetta 2's debut into something promising; but I won't fault the dude over at playeressence for doing so, it's his job, after all.

I still say TF didn't have much hype behind it compared to Bayonetta, even with the greater brand recognition.

How do you know if Bayonetta 2 had more hype than Tropical Freeze? You learned Japanes?

Khan, why people in here dislike Playeressence? They believe misinformations that either Blackb0nd or his friend ReviewtechUSA have said about Playeressence ? Why do people dislike/hate neutral sites like Playeressence which I have observed for a year and a half...? As if its like biased sites such as Polygon or Kotaku...

Just because its not mainstream and does not bash Wii U or Xbox One?

I can assure you that playeressence is in no shape or form a neutral site.

This thread is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Must. Not. Post. Negativity.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Is this supposed to make the saless look better?Wonderful 101 was a huge flop.

Well, at least we now know it'll sell more than The Wonderful 101.

The bar is getting lower and lower. This is quite the sad comparison and quite telling of the situation the WiiU is in right now.

To be fair if Nintendo hadn't helped the game would have never released and Bayonetta wouldn't have been a franchise to begin with. I wonder how much Nintendo payed though, i think this one will have cost them money in the end.

I'm almost certain Nintendo won't make money from Bayonetta 2.  However, they're normally a pretty frugal company, so it would surprise me if they're on the hook for the entire development cost.  It's a pure guess, but I think Sega wanted to see some reinbursement for a cancelled game and took a deal that didn't stick Nintendo for the full cost of work already completed.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's a deal based on sales percentages, which would bite Sega on the rear.

As for Nintendo, they obviously expected the Wii U to be much more successful, which would have raised the expectations of Bayonetta 2.  Even then, though, I doubt they believed they would see much of a profit and rather were using the IP as a means to draw in a more diverse group of gamers.  It's probably going to be a failure in that regard, though most of that is because the Wii U was already in bad shape before Bayonetta 2 even released.
