Also, even if you have the money to buy a console, you might not want to have too many consoles because of limited space or in case you're moving around a lot and don't want too many things to carry with you. As a student for the last 5 years, I don't remember going to any friend's house who had more than one console. Do you honestly buy a console for every single game you're interested in? I don't. I learned to wait. If the game eventually makes it to the platform I own, great. If it doesn't, it's the company's loss. I'll find something else to play. |
No, I haven't missed your point at all. You seemed to have missed the point of Ryudo's post. Either earn your way to getting the game, or do without it. Either way, don't whine about a luxury item. This has been true about console exlusive games ever since the second console was invented. If you can't afford more than one, then make the most of what you have and don't worry about the others.

Then make that one console a Wii U, or don't complain. I spent six recent years of my life in college too. There were times when I couldn't afford to rub two quarters together, and my dinner for an entire week was free pancakes during finals week. I didn't whine about PS360 games that skipped the Wii, meaning I would have to buy a console I couldn't afford in order to play them. Also, your anecdotal evidence about your friends = nothing. In my last semester, one of my roommates owned every console and owned just about every damn game you can imagine. He was the sole reason I was able to play Eternal Darkness, Luigi's Mansion, Fatal Frame, Costume Quest, Kameo, Castle Crashers and a bunch of others. What does that prove? Nothing, just like the friends you know who only own one console.

No, I don't. I buy one console, play the hell out of it, and don't worry about the games I missed because I have plenty to stay occupied with. It just bugs me that you cry the poor man's dilemma on this particular thread when there are dozens of exclusive games on every console, or at least not inclusive of the Wii U (the cheapest console to both purchase and own over time, I might add), that deserve the same attention. Somehow, I doubt you're making the same case in threads for those games. Did you do the same thing for Dead Rising 3, or the next Tomb Raider?

I call it Bayonetta 2 Derangement Syndrome. :)

That tells us two very important things : - Bayonetta 2 was started as a multiplatform game, and Sega was in charge - There are, in PG's hard disks, work-in-progress versions of Bayonetta 2 THAT BELONG TO SEGA. Let me sum it up for you : Sega has the IP, they have Bayo 2 versions likely out of their agreement with Nintendo, and they have plenty of customers to satisfy. Why wouldn't Sega take advantage of that and sell a Bayo 2 Climax edition to the numerous Bayonetta fans waiting in the cold, crying in front of WiiU shelves? |
We already knew Bayonetta 2 was in development already, but Sega cancelled the project. That is noot news. And you try to lie to yourself, you seek for straws justifying Bayonetta could come to the platform of your choice. The project was cancelled. Nintendo picked it up (and not MS or Sony) and funded the finish of the development under the idea this is exclusive. As we all knew this, I argue some time already it must have been cheap for Nintendo, because Sega already payed for part of the development but discarded it.

LOL, you win. But Ryuzaki probably wants to delve deep into false hope to be even more disappointed.

Why didn't they do that for Ninja Gaiden Razor Edge or Rayman Legends then? |
Did they finance development of Ninja Gaiden or Rayman Legends?

But usually it's just annoying. This thread manages to be amusing. I'll make two bets here: If Bayonetta 2 doesn't fall right off the MC charts within two weeks, I'll give Quinton lifetime control of my avatar. Until Bayonetta 2 comes to Playstation, at which point ryuzaki gets control of it. |
Bolded: Ohoh. While I agree Bayonetta will not set the world on fire (with sales), it might be in the lower places of the top for a bit longer. What are the upcoming notable releases? And how much does MC again, was MC that with the TOP 20 or was that Famitsu and MC has only a TOP 10?

Top 20. I don't remember all the upcoming stuff. Nothing huge, but there are enough smaller releases that will chart for a week or two. Lots of games that open with better sales and sell-through rate than Bayonetta 2 did fall off in two weeks, so I'm confident!

And if not... well... maybe he'll at least pick something cool from Highlander.

Yeah, I think you're probably right, but falling out of the TOP20 in the third week is a risky prediction. You will probably be right, but I wouldn't have put anything on the line for that bet. Anyways, we will see how it turns out.

I know! That's what makes it fun!
(I'm considerably more confident in my other bet.)
