Forums - Gaming - FFXV vs FFV (Graphics Evolution)

Well, the Garulas have the more awesome desin in FFV. The Goblin-design in FFXV is great. The design for the Iron Giant is equally bad in both. I didn't made up my mind about the Behemoth. I don't understand why with the switch to 3D and more graphical prowess the design of enemies and worlds became more and more boring. Too normal. We have a game here, our fantasy can go wild. Xenoblade and Monster Hunter have proven, that also in 3D with more or less modern graphics you can have inventive and awesome creatures and worlds. No reason everything have to look boring - with many polygons and detailed textures but boring in design. As Nikkom and others pointed out colors were leaving, but that is only one part of a more and more boring design.

I also have fears about the gameplay. It is no given with 3D, but the GIF you provided look like the new FF will have real time battles (like some time). While Real time can work with RPGs, turn-based mechanics are mostly superior for RPGs. But most important: Real time RPGs and Turn-based RPGs are different genres. So basically FF as a series is dead and a new series with a different and maybe partly overlapping target group was created that confusingly is also called FF.

Geez, they're just reusing enemy design. Those lazy bastards.

If they didn't, they'd be complaints from abandoning their roots.

Also, FFV sucks very badly. Not sure how people can talk kindly about and then trash recent games that are way better.

Maybe it is an opinion? I mean I think VIII, X and XIII are utterly horrible, but I don't typically defer from many people liking it....anymore. (Given if anyone ever presented me an argument about Squall personality being the best, I might hit them.

Also the reason why FFV is loved is typically for the job system and combat system.

For the introduction of the system, even though it wasn't really done well. I'm not a fan of Batz.

Shush Outlaw, we all know that was another game called FFXIII V not FFXV.

Versus XIII/XV was always going to be an action RPG. We knew this when it was announced. That's all I said.

Eh? Technically, FF only has four turn-based games on the main series (I, II, III and X). The ATB already injected the "quick thinking" factor into the battle system since FFIV - you can't take your time to decide what you'll do, the enemy is still attacking while you think. Since then, it has only improved on that aspect.

I'll admit I'm kinda stretching here, but if you think about it, all FFXV does is remove the menus and the waiting between actions.

THE HYPE!
