i don't think the gameplay of FFXIII was the problem, not even in the FF12, the both games failed in the history department and progress of their characters, i think both were soul-less games, specially compared to the others in the series. still FF12 was an interesting game shame i can't say the same about FFXIII (hated this game a lot)

I was going to say something much like that.

XV is a good example of greys, browns and blacks. Even the green grass looks washed-out.

It's called Final Fantasy - why are they so obsessed with making it look realistic, rather than fantastic?

It's been 6 years since the last main series non-online game. I'd hope the graphics improved. From 5 to X is an amazing leap as that was less than 10.

Gameplay in FF13 was a problem along side other things. FF12 on the other hand was a superb game in a lot of ways, just with 2 useless characters spliced in and didn't feel as FF as maybe they should have made it (it was Ivalice mind you). The other 4 main characters progression, characterisation and the history of the world was very well done.

The gamer generation that started playing in the mid/late 90s  is allergic to colors. Since then devs try to remove more and more color  because they still want to figure out the "appropriate amount" of color.

I'm actually not too worried for FFXV's story! I mean, it cannot be worse than FFXIII's story............right?!

All the visual dazzle can't compensate for a terrible game if they keep on the same path as the last standalone title.
