For the Record, the NDS was out for about 7 years before the 3DS came out, as opposed to the 3 and a half years the 3DS has been released, so it would make sense for the NDS to have better games on it since its had more of a chance for games to come out for it.

I personally bought a 3DS, but the majority of the games I have for it are Original DS games, and they take most of my time. I've finished more DS games than 3ds games. That being said I guess NDS games have been more enjoyable for me, but simply because it has 3 1/2 more years on the 3DS. I'm sure if we compare it by the same timespan the 3DS will have better games though.

3DS is a joke.... it's main feature 3D is turned off by most of the user. It was overpriced when it release and the Graphical evolution is just comparing 2004 Tech to the 2011 tech. Both system are actually behind their times in term of processing and power.

I think the 3DS would of been better off without 3d and simply have a bigger screen that can push a higher resolution.

The original clunky DS was badly design and it wasn't until DS lite, that The Nintendo DS truly shine. It's sales are probably severely over stated from people owning multiple consoles. Nintendo DS did revolution mobile gaming by introducing a touch screen and dual screen hardware.

3DS is a natural evolution of the Nintendo DS. It's obviously better then the DS. It's like comparing the WiiU to the Wii, WiiU is better.

All of Nintendo DS can be played on 3DS.

Was this post started by a person and finished by another?

It's consistent: he doesn't think highly of either, but places the 3DS over its predecessor, the latter of which he nonetheless acknowledges had a big impact on handhelds generally.

Oh. Seems I'm too dumb then. Oh well.

DS no contest. Such a huge amount of both quality and innovative gaming. Yoshis Touch and Go and Kirby's Canvas Curse were awesome. Plenty of decent RPGs. Vita and 3DS combined will probably never touch the DS for me.

Sure the games haven't aged too well. But yeah at the time it was immense. So much more genre variety too as Western devs still made handheld games back then.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I skipped the DS generation.

3DS is the greatest handheld of all time.

I skipped it too, and I'm now slowly making up for it.

Annnnnnnnnnnd time.

DS wins!!!

I've probably enjoyed my 3DS more. Has the better Zelda and Mario games, I've really loved Theatrythm, has a ton of great sequels. The DS did more to advance tech for handhelds, but for me personally, I've enjoyed more games on the 3DS.

3DS has managed to become my favorite system of all time. My personal library of retail 3DS games is hovering around 30, running the gamut of Nintendo's first party franchises and even a few notable 3rd party efforts. In addition, 3DS's eShop is Nintendo's first real successful foray into digital gaming, and I've gotten quite a few awesome digital-only games in the past few years.

DS never did it for me. It gave me Mario 64 at launch and then never delivered on the promise of a portable N64 (which was my favorite system at the time). 3DS, on the other hand, IS more like a portable N64 (though with GC/Wii level graphics). DS had quite a few good games, but in my opinion the 3DS library is far superior.

In addition to that, I just believe the 3DS takes everything good about the DS and makes it better, while adding tons of new features and improvements. The ONLY slight I can make against the 3DS is the battery life, which remains disappointing. I LOVE 3DS though. 950+ hours and COUNTING!

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

I personally feel that the 3DS is the best console of all time, but let it check. No question, DS was a great console too.

DS vs. 3DS
Etrian Odyssey (EO2 and 3 didn't made it to europe) vs. EO4 + EO:Millenium Girl -> 3DS wins
Radiant Historia vs. nothing like that -> DS wins
nothing I'm aware of vs. SMT: Soul Hackers, SMT Devil Survivor -> 3DS wins
Zelda Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks vs. Zelda OoT3D and LBW -> 3DS wins
Another Code, Hotel Dusk and Last window vs. sadly nothing -> DS wins clearly
Pokemon BW 1+2 vs. Pokemon XY -> tie
nothing vs. Bravely Default -> 3DS wins
nothing alike vs. Kid Icarus Uprising -> 3DS wins clearly
nothing I' aware of vs. Fire Emblem Awakening -> 3DS wins clearly
999 vs. Virtues Last Reward -> tie
nothing comparable vs. Resident Evil Revelations -> 3DS wins clearly
nothing vs. Monster Hunter -> 3DS
nothing vs. Project X Zone -> 3DS
Locks Quest vs. nothing -> DS
nothing vs. Luigis Mansion -> 3DS
Lost Magic vs. nothing -> DS
nothing vs. Dillon's Rolling Western 1+2 -> 3DS
nothing vs. Denpa Men 1-3 -> 3DS
nothing vs. Pullblox/Fallblox -> 3DS
nothing vs. Sakura Samurai and Steamworld Dig -> 3DS
better battery life vs. Streetpass, DLC and Virtual Console -> 3DS

15 wins for 3DS, 4 wins for DS, 2 ties. 3DS beats DS by a big margin. And that doesn't even take into account, that I can play all DS-games on my 3DS. And 3DS still gets more games, MH4 and Codename STEAM are coming at least.

I probably forgot one thing or another. Still 3DS has such a good lead, this will not change anything.

DS simply because I had more fun with the games on it (and there's a lot more to play).

SM64 DS was my first time experiencing the game, and it became my favorite DS game after Soul Silver.
