Not even. They said that you would never be able to finish destiny. They also said in a game play video that you would be able to explore certain that areas of the game that isn't accessible. That means they already had content planned before release.

He said you may never finish it, not you won't. Also, he wasn't reffering to the story. The whole game in general.

Those areas weren't accessible because they were locked in the beta (I think).

Read what he said, no one has 100% the game yet.

They've already introduced new raids and strikes. There's going to be new content all the time. You won't be able to speed run and be done.

I'm trying to remember if I ever fell for hype but nothing comes to mind. I mean I know exactly what I like and if a game does what I like I cannot really be disappointed. It always seems that either people take their hype way too seriously or that they don't know what they like.

I was extremely hyped for FFXIII, wasn't disappointed.
I was extremely hyped for Mirror's Edge, wasn't disappointed.

Currently I'mextremely hyped for WiLD. And if what they said so far is true I don't think I will be disappointed.

Because of the beta and alpha, I'd have to agree with the OP. Bungie's words were over exaggerated but playing the beta/alpha was more than enough to figure out just how much of an over exaggeration there was.

4 ≈ One

Agreed, I don't think there has been a more open game reveal and release, Bungie have been pretty upfront the whole time, and everyone had a chance to play the beta which gave a good feel for whether you'd enjoy the game or not.

Quite a few reviewers have taken digs at Bungie for the lack of pre-release review copies (despite their fairly reasonable explanation), and I think that negatively coloured some of the reviews. The open beta also removed the need for reviews as you could jump in and discover the game for yourself. Reviewers don't want that to become a trend because it cuts down the number of people reading their reviews (why need a review when you've already played the game?) and that scares them. Plenty of reviewers have massive ego's too because of the power a good or bad review can have on a game, and they hate being cut out of the picture, particularly for such a massive release. I think some of the negativity in the reviews in retaliation from the reviewers for Bungie side-lining them throughout the reveal and release.

I don't know. Personally, I didn't buy it because I never liked Halo. :P

You know what I understand from all of this? That Destiny in its current form is like a start up pack.
Am I right?
