Agreed. I was disappointed by GTA V a year ago because of the huge amount of hype and yet that was still good

If Destiny was that similar to a Halo game then it would be up there with Halo games in terms of critical success. You act as if the game is a 85+ and Xbox gamers are bashing it because we're salty. Destiny's story is absolutely bland with no character development or at least a character to care about. Not even your own character makes you invested in it. The story missions are not memorable at all, they're just big playable areas with objectives. The multiplayer is unbalanced and doesn't come with features like custom games, forge, or even more variety of what to play. If you truly have played Halo you would be able to tell that Destiny does not hold up to them. Ive played over a thousand hours of Halo so I think I know what level of quality to expect from a Bungie game. They did not deliver. At least not yet since it seems that they're holding back content for Expansions and weekly updates.

Well I have "truly" played it and I do think there a good number of Xbox gamers being salty.  That being said mechanically it is the same game as far as shooting.  In Halo many times you go to a terminal and Cortana asks you hold off Covenant or fight them to get to the terminal.  Same thing with Ghost in Destiny.  Sorry if I'm shattering your nostalgia glasses here but they're the same thing.

I know that they are similar in that way. See post here.

You said that you can't see how a Halo fan doesn't like Destiny, I told you why.

seems like sour grapes to me with all those similarities.  If Halo 5 comes and gets some great scores with all those parallels I'm calling BS on those "fans"

Notice there's nothing in that post about the quality of the story, which is where they differ greatly. Reviews already state that the gameplay is fantastic but the campaign is boring and unfulfilling.

If Halo 5 gets great scores for being Halo its because the reviewers felt it deserved that score for being a solid game, singleplayer and multiplayer. How would it fall on the "fans" whether or not a game scores well? Destiny didn't live up to the hype, simple as that.

Just because Destiny and Halo share similarities doesn't make them even. What Bungie nailed in Halo they kind of failed in Destiny but hey they're both shooters so shooter lovers should love this regardless right?

I think Destiny will be one hell of a game in the future since Bungie is behind it. But their first attempt with Destiny goes in competition with their first Halo 13y ago. This already is a better attempt than most todays shooters but still not up to the bests and one of the best was created by them. Imo 75 is exactly what I would've rated the game after the beta. I choosed to not buy on the hype and imo I was right.

I was promised a sunday with all the toppings thus i purchased it on that expectation, what i got was a banana with milk poured on it.

The ones to blame is bungie and activision for clearly deceiving everyone.

or because it's called Halo and will get recognition because it fits your purposes.  Now Destiny doesn't have a complete story it's true.  That's mainly because they have TEN years to finish the story so they're not going to spell it all out upfront.  If it plays mostly the same and has a few new interesting mechanics that work it should basically the same scores.  People just expected something completely different than what Bungie was selling for some reason.  Bungie never said it would be anything other than an open world shooter with an evolving world over 10 years.  Sure they used hyperbole in the ads but every company does that it's called advertising.

Bungie didn't show bs videos about how the game would play in the most ideal circumstances like Ubisoft usually does, they didn't announce bogus features features that were never implemented like Rockstar has on their last few games.  Months before launch Bungie announced the level cap, all the areas that were available within the game, all the features available, and opened servers for PS3, 360, Xbox One, and PS4 owners to play the game's beta.  People who were interested in Destiny had every opportunity to see if they'd enjoy the game before purchasing it.

There was nothing deceiving about the games advertising.  If you are one of the people to have overhyped it in your own mind thinking the final version of the game should have more than they described, then you only have yourself to blame.

Yes, blame the consumer. That's what all you nerds ever do.

....really?

If they create a story that unfolds for 10 years, shouldn't they put effort in each iterations so the story seems fresh for every iterations? IT,s like taking a 20min story and stretching it for 2h isntead of making a 2h story... they can do better.

I think they shouldn't have said that you could go everywhere in the game, or that every planets were as huge as the entire Halo Reach game, or that their engine will be good for 10 years or they have a budget of 500m... I'm talking on my FB about that game and so many people don't know that the 500m is for 10 years. Most of them thought it was an MMO etc etc. I understand that every companies "advertise" their products but please, don't try to mislead your customers.

They could just say the game will be great and be part of something new that'll unfold for 10 years etc etc.

I hope Bungie and Acti listens to these complants (not mine but those on the net because there's a lot) and the reviews. So the next games and DLC are exactly what they bragged about.
