I think that was a more strategic decision, and for holiday season they haved Mario 3D World very big sistem seller.

You can't cripple a dead thing anymore than it has been already. So I say makes no difference.

Unless the game is irrevocably broken then nintendo has to push the game out for the holiday season. Smash missing out on black friday, or worse being pushed back to next year would be a horrible blow for their potential sales that they cannot afford.

If the game releases in 2015, then they're probably still underestimating the time and resources necessary to craft HD AAA titles...what happened with MK8 should've made them realize that they need to put more effort into Wii U games. Then again, a lot of titles are being or have been delayed for the same reasons (DC, Batman ecc.), so it's probably a common problem, but Nintendo is in a tough position and shouldn't allow themselves this luxury.

You need to remember we're not just talking about selling to the faithful here, but also to impulse buyers. It will move a lot more systems over the holiday rush, when people are more inclined to buy hardware, than later.

Smash could be out any time
The game is finished. All that needs to be done are playtesting and bug checking. So, I'd imagine either this weekend or next week we will get a release date for Black Friday in America and maybe December in Europe.

I'm 99% sure it will hit this year. I just can't see how Nintendo as a business could ever justify it not coming this Holiday. It would be suicide for them. I think they'd force Sakurai to release an unfinished product that could be patched later before they'd delay it to 2015.  However, I'm not 100% convinced it will hit before Black Friday, which is really when it needs to.

Why wouldn't Smash WiiU come out this holiday season? :S
