who created god?

Fuck it! I will just continue to believe in God. You got to have more faith to believe in Galaxies banging than My Homie G making it all.

So God just wins by default? Lol... thats not a good reason to believe in God.

Btw... which version of God do you believe in?

That's just it, man. We don't know. This is the main difference between a scientist and a creationist:

Scientist simply state that they do not know, explain what they understand, point to what's being done to figure out more, tells you what evidence they've found and what it implies, and encourage you to help continue the quest for knowledge.

Creationist explain away what they don't know just by labelling it "God's work". They some how give whimsical explanations for the existance of all things by suggesting everything was created with us in mind. It's easier and paints a rosier picture.

I'm not afraid of not having the answers. I'm not gonna going to except accept some book written by 1.5k+ years ago, with no evidence, as the truth because it gives me the warm fuzzies; because it tells me there's a special place for me when I die if I do things right. The fact that I don't know how everything works doesn't harm me or anyone else. Telling myself lies and spreading misinformation to others, I have a problem with that.

Since so many people here are discussing god in the context of the the big bang:

I once read that in the early days of the big bang theory, many scientists were rejecting the idea simply because they felt it would reintroduce "god" to science. They thought it had certain resemblences to the religious story of the creation of the universe and would again suggest a god/demiurg, just when they thought science had finally been freed from religious beliefs/dogmas.

I found that very interesting/funny, given that nowadays, people seem to think quite the opposite:
that it's either the big bang theory OR god, and that the big bang is something like a definite proof that god doesn't exist.

Most Atheists i've spoken to dropped the smartass attitude after that question. Not to mention that they can't seem to answer the question of how an existence without consciousness can create an existence with consciousness.

Not, because this question and answer are totally biased.

The first step is to use logic (simple logic), to have doubt and ask questions. "Who create the energy ? Who created the black hole, the big bang ? Why ? Why ? Space, time and whatever... I'm so much in doubt !"

The 2nd step is to forgot any logic and doubt the first step was based on, to find an answer that is beyond logic : then God exists. No "Who created God ?" "Anything needs an origin ! What is before God" "Where does the energy of God come from ?" "Would God created God, an alternative God ? But what would it become ?".

Anyway... our existence seems to imply for both believers and atheists that the starting point (be it God, the Universe, the big bang intial conditions or whatever) has always been there, created itself, or does not even exists. But that is in fact extremely simplistic, because as far as we know by science... Well, your question about "before" is a question about a time where... woooo... there is not even time. A question about what logic could apply when or if there is nothing and no time is way beyond our understanding, and could even be beyond understanding.

I think it's even a mistake for a believer to try to prove the existence of God by logic, because most religions (I heard of) claim the path to God is faith (or love, whatever). For example, the Church, its representative or the Bible doesn't claim to prove anything. A proof, especially a simple proof in a few sentence, would deny any freedom and faith.

And it's also a mistake for an atheist to try to prove God does not exists by logic, because it's a misuderstanding about where logic apply and what logic is.

I have quite a fun question for you. It's just to show the limit of logic on such a subject.
First, some background, and that's a real debate, I didn't came up with it : If God is omnipotent and omniscient, He should know everything, including the future, right ? Which implies He knows who will have faith or not. If the outcome of faith for someone is known, it is a determinism, which denies the concept of faith. And that is also impossible. So, one of the common and convenient solution for this problem is that God... does not know the future. Another solution would be that God self limits His omniscience and omnipotence. We could also think that God is not omniscient and omnipotent.
So, anyway, my question is : If He doesn't know (continuously) the future, isn't it implying that we or the Universe could possibly be there by accident ?

This has little to do with politics but to answer the question. I can't explain that!

The big bang theory came from those seeking an answer to the universal question, where do we come from?

The fact that many modern (atheist) scientist debunk the whole theory is usually forgotten. I am no expert on the matter but when I studied it from a personal perspective the arguments they put up against it made more sense.
To each their own opinion.

After teaching millions of people at institutes this theory it is not an easy task to suddenly rubbish it.

I will be surprised if this theory survives another 50 years.

Time will tell one way or the other.

so let me get this straight. You recognize not being knowledgeable on the topic, yet think your input is valuable? I can't even...
there is virtually no dissent in the scientific community about the big bang and it has not been disproved by anyone, so that's absolutely false. big bang isn't an opinion, it's a theory...which is an explanation of observed facts...

far too many "youtube scholars" in here without any real academic proficiency from what I've seen so far. you guys should stop posting from ignorance and start reviewing the facts involved. honestly, I feel like I wasted my time attempting to explain things to you people.

I'll see my way out before they ban me again for (rightfully) pointing out the collective ineptitude here.

Not being able to answer how the Big Bang started doesn't validate the belief of a god or gods. The burden of proof falls on the people who believe in a deity or deities because they made that assumption in the first place. However, any rational person knows that we first gather the facts and evidence, piece them together, and draw a conclusion. You DO NOT come up with a conclusion first and then, desperately try to look for "facts" to validate your claim. Here's a political cartoon that best describes this:

ok....fair enough. Where did god come from? At least he says he is almighty and omnipotent. He does not beat around the bush. The Big Bang theory is all over the place! What is going on with it?
So yes, I am like a Greek who thought lightning came from the gods. Yet some of you blindly go with whatever science says even though there are no answers usually, and even when there are answers it in no way disproves there is a god or not. Your grade school teacher or college professor taught you that god is not real and that evolution is a fact as is the big bang. So you are willing to fight to the end no matter what to make them right. You learned it your whole life, so why wouldn't you? Same with me. I was raised on Christian beliefs. So I will also fight for what I believe. But besides us both agreeing that evolution is real, which it is. Why not? And that there was probably a big bang. Why not again? God probably did bang the universe into creation. If he is real. Right?
There really is not difference between us. Neither faiths have any facts to go by, besides a dusty old book that was chosen for us to read by some Roman council 2000 years ago, and a theory of The Big Bang!
We are the same. Both have faith without any proof, and nothing really makes any sense either way you look at it.

There is 'proof' of the big bang. There is overwhelming evidence that the universe began with an inital expansion.

But in that case, who created the conciousness that created the conciouss existence?
