Not really sure about getting any IPs, but they should certainly try to buy the CryEngine, though. Buying the whole studio is out of question. Anyway, being one of the only few 3rd party engines on the market that currently supports Wii U and isn't outdated like Unreal Engine 3, it would be quite a blow if any other company that buys it starts to drop Wii U support. The main problem with CE3 currently is the high licensing fees, maybe if Nintendo also dropped those CE3 could see more support and, therefore, more chances of seeing Wii U ports down the road. Also, engine licensing is quite a lucrative business, Epic Games know it very well, you just need to make it easy to develop(which CE3 already is) and acessible for 3rd party companies.

CE3 isn't available anymore, now it's only CryEngine. This means you get every future major release for free, so there have probably been some licensing fees changed, I'm not sure.

buying Crytek would be insane. All their key staff would leave. The company culture and sense of identity at Crytek would NOT fit in at nintendo. It would be like trying to buy Valve.

There are no Crytek IP's that Crytek makes that Nintendo needs. Their whole methodology of building games is the exact of opposite of what Nintendo is all about.

Capcom... Crytek... May the age of the Great Spending Spree begin.

Crytek would be a much better investment than Capcom. Even Nintendo doesn't know how to get the most out of their own hardware.

On the other hand Capcom has far better known IPs. IMO Capcom would be better, just for that. RE, STreet Fighter, MoHun, Dead Rising and a miriad of smaller IPs are far better then Crysis and Homefront.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Crytek's games are mediocre.

Capcom is a different story.

I agree

TimeSplitters Nintendo exclusive!

What great games do crytek make?

The engine is nice but I prefer 1st party devs building their own engines, gives more visual variety.
