Nintendo should buy PART of Crytek. In particular, Austin (merge it with Retro to have two AAA teams there) and UK ( rename it and have them work on a flagship FPS). Crytek probably expanded too quickly. Nintendo could offer them cash for those two studios who are both state-of-the-art and full of staff that worked formally on prized Nintendo exclusives - especially UK which has a great deal of Rare talent. Nintendo could give them lots of millions to get Crytek out of trouble and allow them to continue doing what they love doing, and Nintendo could have a couple new studios with skilled talent making western-styled new IP's in no time. It actually makes perfect sense.

Why should Nintendo buy Crytek? To own some FPS franchises? And some custom fancy-graphics tools?

I think they could gain a lot more by buying other companies (Sega, Platinum, etc.) than they could Crytek, which really wouldn't make much sense...or have much meaningful impact.

You know, you could put that for Sony and MS fans too. It's not really exclusive to Nintendo fans (nor indicative of how most of them think) at all.

I saw a fair few Sony fans wanting to buy Atlus.  I haven't seen any wanting to buy Crytek, and not many seemed interested in Capcom either (whereas we had about 10 threads within the first day of the Capcom announcement saying Nintendo should buy them).

EA never owned Crytek they just had a publishing deal and no they are not for sale yet but are having financial problems.
