Nintendo really ignored the 3DS this year and really on focused on Wii U especially at E3. Games like Kirby rainbow curse and Mario Maker could have been easily made for the 3DS, except instead of using NSMBU graphics it would use NSMB2 graphics for mario maker.Really the only big releases this year were Yoshi's New Island (which was OK but woolly world looks soooo much better), Kirby Triple Deluxe, Smash Bros 3D, and Pokemon gen 3 remakes. Compare that to 2013 where we got Luigi's Mansion dark moon, Pokemon X and Y, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D,Mario and Luigi Dream Team, A link between worlds, and probably a couple more I missed.

Kirby Rainbow Curse is played on the touch screen, so it wouldn't have worked on the 3DS because it wouldn't use the 3D screen.

Mario Maker has the NES game, and they would need more time & money to do the stereoscopic rendering, especially time consuming, I mean just figuring out how exactly you want to do 3D in the NES Super Mario Bros. game consumes time by itself, let alone the other things in development that would consume even more time for a 3DS Mario Maker. And there's no reason to make Mario Maker for Wii U if there's a 3D one. So they had every reason for this game to also be on the Wii U exclusively instead.

2014 does have a great 3DS lineup, you just didn't see many revealed at E3 for the Wii U's sake. But look forward to unannouced games coming to the 3DS in just 2014 alone.

So are you saying there are more directs coming to talk about 3DS? Also, I missed Tomodachi Life in my 3DS 2014 lineup which looks really fun

The 3DS isn't an 8th gen console. It's a 5th gen HANDHELD.

He's talking about 8th Gen Video Game Systems.

He only said bad console selling, because Home Consoles this Gen are suspected to be lower lifetime sells then the previous Gen of  Home Consoles of 80 + 80 + 100 million.

What? But the 3DS is a FITH GENERATION handheld. It's not even IN the 8th gen. And even if it were, it's not a console lol. Makes abosoultely no sense comparing two completely different products from two completely different generations.

It's a Video Game System. And this generation of Video game systems is 8th Gen.

He never once said the word Handheld, so you wouldn't confuse what he's saying.

And when he said Consoles, he was only referring to Home Consoles, which is still in the category of the 8th Gen.

Sorry for the vagueness by both me & the other user.

Ok here we go. The ps4 has enormous competition on the way. It's dominating right now but that's with a halo less Xbox (winter is coming) and it isn't even dominating Wii u now due to mk8 and Nintendo has the biggest megatons for the rest of the year and arguably 2015 so far so ps4 won't keep up this pace due to those two alone. Also the steamboxes will probably do somewhat of a dent as well. On top of this the 3ds has no competition for the handheld market. I'm sure Sony is done making handhelds now because of the vitas failure. I also believe the 3ds, like the ds before it, will continue to sell a lot after it's successor has been released thanks to reduced prices on it.

Steambox will go the way of ouya. Not sure what the Vita has to do with anything. Wii U won't do diddly to the ps4 and the biggest games in history are hitting ps4 this year.

There are 2 different exclsuives from Mega Man creator coming to the 3DS this year, but none of them are Mega Man Legends 3 :..(

Theres also Rodea the Sky Soldier.

Anyone who became a fan of Mutant Mudds & Gunman Clive via smartphones & tablets & PC will have to buy a 3DS for their sequels. (that was the plan all along, well not the original plan for Gunman Clive, but only the 3DS glasses-free 3D shows off the 3D cell-shaded graphics of Gunman Clive)

There are also games you forgot to mention, like Persona Q & Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & etc.

And yeah, Tomodachi Life does look really fun.

PS4, the system will keep selling consistently rather then a large burst like the 3DS. The PS4 will have price cuts that will keep the sales strong, and possibly 1 or 2 redesigns.

You do realize that the 3DS hasn't had a price cut in 3 years, because it was selling good until now?

Clearly a up to $70 price cut is coming to the 3DS with an obvious $50 price cut coming to the 3DS XL. Plus exclusives like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & Super Smash Bros. portable & King of Pirates & other exclusive from Mega Man creator & Rodea the Sky Soldier & so fort, will help the 3DS come no later then Q4 2014. But til then, I see Nintendo focusing on Wii U until it can take care of itself in October.

The 3DS has room for 1 major price cut. The PS4 has room for 4 or more. The 3DS probably does not have any major redesigns either while the PS4 has 1 or 2.

I don't see the 3DS selling past 70m to be honest.

So i'm 99.9% sure the PS4 will outsell it.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

3DS will outsell the Hypestation 4.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

The 3DS won't sell higher than 65mil in my opinion. By then, they'll probably announce a new handheld.. hopefully one that's powerful, more affordable, and less gimmicky.

Interesting results in the poll so far.I didn't think it would be this close
