In January to March of 2014 every fifth 3DS systems shipped was still a 2DS.

And what is that bolded question even supposed to mean? Of course there will always be people that'll just spend the 50 bucks more to get a full 3DS, the point is that if people really had such a problem with the already very low price of the 3DS, then they'd just get a 2DS, so don't act as if another 3DS pricecut is suddenly going to change the direction the 3DS' sales are heading.

As long as you don't see any flaws with everything you just said. (both bolded and un-bolded)

Jesus Christ, you won't shut up about the same stuff in this thread, there is no problem with my example because it shows that people are not not buying 3DS' anymore because they are too expensive but because most of the potential market owns one by now. Face it people are not as crazy about 3D as you are, if they wanted a cheaper 3DS they'd just get the 2DS, a potential pricecut would temporarily boost sales but not change its course.

I'll remind you of this at the end of the year when 3DS sales YoY will be massively down.

Smartphones will kill the 3DS before you know it. I don't see it reaching 80 million. Whereas PS4 could sell over a 100 million if Sony keeps supporting it.

Different audience Smartphones will not  kill the 3DS

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Changes in the market have hit the handheld space far harder than the home console space; there's far less room for 3DS to grow into now. I expect it'll be replaced before the PS4 is, too, so I think the PS4 will sell more.

Sometimes I think 3DS has already seen its best year (2013), and it will be replaced by 2017. PS4 will, like the PS3 and even more the PS2, sell strong throughout its lifetime. I'd like to see the 3DS get more heavy hitters next year. Also the Ruby/Sapphire remakes will get at least ten people I know to buy a 3DS only for that, don't know about rest of the world.

Yep.

Japan will be the reason ps4 will not approach 100mil

Just asking since the PS3 only sold to 30 to 50 million individuals who bought multiple PS3s for reasons.

I can see Destiniy doing a boost in sales but everything else looks like it will just keep the steady stream at mośt.

GTA is an unknown way away, but will boost sales. (PS3 is great example for this)

But I suspect that only 50 to 100 million individuals actually bought a DS.

The only systems I know that don't have inflation would be PS2 & GBA. The best is Wii, it only sold per household, with very few having any multiple Wii's.

The PS4 can still do more better if it wasn't for Xbox ONE. Plus the Xbox ONE is now flying off the selves by just having the same price as the PS4.

The PS4 could have as high as 175% as much sells, if it wasn't for X1, but has still broken records anyways.

We don't have this kind of data. Official failure rate data doesn't confirms it too. Anyway, 100M for PS4 is pretty much a given since its predecessor will end close to this (a little bit less or more) and Sony this gen is stealing share from MS.

Both the 3ds and ps4 will sell significantly less than their predecessor. But the ps4 might pass the 3ds.
