The 2DS has been out 9 months, and has only sold 2 million, while the 3DS & 3DS XL has sold much more then that each, since October 12 2013. It's obvious that the 2DS & PS Vita both have a very niche market that just isn't going to sell either of them, that many units.

I forget if the 3DS XL or 3DS is the best selling Nintendo handheld, but I know the 2DS has been underperforming below everyone's expectations.

I don't count the 2DS, because it applies to a very niche market, like the PS Vita before it.

Of the 6.96mil 3DS' systems shipped outside of Japan in the last fiscal year 2.2mil were 2DS' (which only released in October) that's over 30%, which is not a niche amount of sales.


I'm just saying that the 2DS is repeating the front loaded sales the PS Vita had. I've seen this kind of appreciation before. Plus I was talking about global 3DS family SKU with the 2DS hitting 2.2 million out of that entire total.

 Also, how is it that the 2DS can only do 2 million out of 7 million for non-Japanese SKUs, if the price tag of the 2DS is suppose to help 2DS SKUs?

In January to March of 2014 every fifth 3DS systems shipped was still a 2DS.

And what is that bolded question even supposed to mean? Of course there will always be people that'll just spend the 50 bucks more to get a full 3DS, the point is that if people really had such a problem with the already very low price of the 3DS, then they'd just get a 2DS, so don't act as if another 3DS pricecut is suddenly going to change the direction the 3DS' sales are heading.

I still dont think PS4 will sell much more than the current Consoles (PS360) as it will be replaced faster.

That said I still think it will hit 85-90M while the 3DS will get to around 80.

 3DS hasn't had a Price Cut for 3 years, and it just now started getting any poor sales.

Solution, Nintendo just does another major price cut on the 3DS again, after 3 years of no price cut.

The 3DS isn't an 8th gen console. It's a 5th gen HANDHELD.
