OT: The PS4. Give or take 5 Million I would say 90 Million for the PS4 and 75 Million for the 3DS. It won't be a runaway win like it was for the DS last generation, but it'll still win. That's all the matters anyway, right?!

@ Bolded; what do you mean? DS competed with PSP, and sold roughly twice as much. You say you expect 3DS to sell 75m - so you expect Vita to sell over 40 million or so, then...?

If anything, it'll be more like a complete steamroll instead of a runaway win, as it doesn't look like Vita will even reach 20 million, ever.

I don't see the PS4 hitting 100 million. The PS2 was an oddity...I don't think there will ever be another household system that sells that well. The Wii *barely* broke 100 million, and that was huge. I'm talking about the DS compared to the next best selling system in that generation, much like the PS4 compared to the next best selling system - the 3DS. I'm not that delusional to think the PSV will do anywhere near that, Cheebee. Please think higher of me.

I usually do, so that's why I was wondering...

In any case, who's to say PS4 will be the bestselling system besides 3DS anyway; Wii U might still pull through and outsell PS4 and X1 combined! Yeah!

Personally I feel like the 3DS will outsell the PS4, and I don't think Nintendo will be showing off a 3DS successor for awhile since the system has a large variety of games still coming to it. I actually think the 3DS will sell at least 100M and at the most 120M



"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

You do realize that the 3DS' sales are already slowing down majorly? Even if Nintendo doesn't release a successor till 2018 or something, it still won't hit 100 Million. (Not to mention making Nintendo lose a ton of money.)

How do you expect it to coast till 100 Million?

The PS4 will bet the 3DS by a sizable margin, but not very quickly. The PS4 simply has the advantage of being part of a larger ecosystem at the moment, not to mention having vastly more 3rd party support and a stronger brand following.

I don't expect it to coast to 100M, I expect the games coming to it to help the sales. I am sure Smash Bros 4 will help 3DS sales, Project STEAM will probably push units, a new 2D Metroid game, Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and the inevitable Emerald remake, Monster Hunter 4 and many other games that are soon to come. I feel like Nintendo is turning the 3DS into a long term investment and won't be showing off a new handheld anytime soon and have plans to jumpstart the sales of the system.
