Well, the DS sold 154 million units. I don't think the 3DS will get near there, but it could realistically break 100 million.

I don't see the PS4 hitting 100 million. The PS2 was an oddity...I don't think there will ever be another household system that sells that well. The Wii *barely* broke 100 million, and that was huge. Everyone wanted one, whether it was kids, "hardcore" gamers, and the ubercasuals like Grandma and Grandpa. Hell, my boss bought one for lightgun games, and he's professed his hatred for "the sticks" several times to me.

I see the 3DS settling around 90 million, maybe around 95. I see the PS4 hitting what the PS3 did: 85 tops.

3DS is really really far from being on pace to 90+ million. For that to happen it would need a miracle.

Or a 3D Zelda, new Metroid, Smash...games that are proven system sellers.

Its had all the biggest system sellers; Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Animal Crossing. In 3 years its sold 43m and is now in decline with a considerably weaker line up then its had in the past. Its simply not gonna sell an additional 47m in the next 3 years.

The 3DS will get its first price cut after 3 years, and it's another major price cut at that.

So with the new much lower price of both the 3DS & 3DS XL this coming Holiday, it will be very interesting. Plus they announce quite a bit of games for the 3DS during E3 2K14, but more importantly there are much more better games coming out exclusively for the 3DS this year, then what Nintendo has announced so far.

You can already get a system that is able to play all 3DS games for $129...the price is not the problem with the 3DS, it's simply approaching a point where its market is saturated.

And regarding the bolded: Such as? And when would they announce those?

40% of the voters say the 3DS is going to beat the PS4...oh man.

3DS is already dropping off, but I don't think the PS4 is proven yet.

I'd bet on PS4, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it fall short.

We must have been watching different E3s. Nintendo almost completely ignored the 3DS.

The 2DS has been out 9 months, and has only sold 2 million, while the 3DS & 3DS XL has sold much more then that each, since October 12 2013. It's obvious that the 2DS & PS Vita both have a very niche market that just isn't going to sell either of them, that many units.

I forget if the 3DS XL or 3DS is the best selling Nintendo handheld, but I know the 2DS has been underperforming below everyone's expectations.

I don't count the 2DS, because it applies to a very niche market, like the PS Vita before it.

Of the 6.96mil 3DS' systems shipped outside of Japan in the last fiscal year 2.2mil were 2DS' (which only released in October) that's over 30%, which is not a niche amount of sales.
