easily ps4 if the 3ds had a another great year like 2013 then no but the sales NOPE!

So you didn't watch E3 2K14, and you didn't look at other 2014 3DS games. And you didn't look at the how Nintendo is going to localize a bunch of Japanese exclusive 3rd party games for the 3DS, nor take into account other type of content coming to the 3DS.

Flipnote Studio 3D alone will sell some systems, and then there's Super Smash Bros. on Handheld with graphics that look like 2D sprites when you play with the 3D OFF, but have the outlines on. Bayonetta side-story is another guarantee game coming to the 3DS during its lifetime, as well as Pokémon 7th Gen. Plus the obvious price cut after 3 years finally coming, even though they are only cutting the price of the 3DS after 3 years, because of poor sales finally happening to finally drop the price for the first time in 3 years. It's gonna be another major price cut, maybe as much as $70 for the 3DS, but clearly only $50 cut for the 3DS XL.

The 3DS may be the only 8th gen to get past 80mil. due to the bad console selling...

The 3DS isn't an 8th gen console. It's a 5th gen HANDHELD.

He's talking about 8th Gen Video Game Systems.

He only said bad console selling, because Home Consoles this Gen are suspected to be lower lifetime sells then the previous Gen of  Home Consoles of 80 + 80 + 100 million.

3DS is already suffering with falling sales and won't pass 80M probably. PS4 in the worst case would do 100M, simply because PS3 with less marketshare will end with a similar number. PS4 will end somewhere between PS1 and PS2.

Edit: People are really voting for 3DS? It simply doesn't make any sense.

100mil for the PS4?  Those days are over

I'm curious to see what mkes you think so? Better yet, how exactly do you think they PS4 will not break a hundred million in sales? Especially since its currently in a two horse race.

Nintendo could give the 3ds a good boost with a good incremental update. Nicer case and screen, better battery and some Wii U integration. Like allowing games to stream to a Tv via the Wii U.

This would get sales up but the PS4 will still likely win though... assuming it gets some games. :P

So people would stream a 3D 240p image onto a 2D 1080p TV?

That would just look horrible in every way. Just going from 3D to 2D is bad enough, and then you have the 240p being stretch out on a 1080p display.

Nintendo has every reason not stream a 240p 3D image onto people's 1080p 2D screens.

Just look at the upcoming sales of the systems from July 2014 to December 2014 and tell me what you think during January 2015. Well for 3DS, you might want to wait for Q4 2014 sells, so forget about July to September or October for 3DS sells I suppose.

Personally I feel like the 3DS will outsell the PS4, and I don't think Nintendo will be showing off a 3DS successor for awhile since the system has a large variety of games still coming to it. I actually think the 3DS will sell at least 100M and at the most 120M

You do realize that the 3DS' sales are already slowing down majorly? Even if Nintendo doesn't release a successor till 2018 or something, it still won't hit 100 Million. (Not to mention making Nintendo lose a ton of money.)

How do you expect it to coast till 100 Million?

The majority of the profits are from the software sales. The 3DS has a large enough install-base and coming titles + developers that mean it will continue to generate revenue so long as the games continue to be bought... which they are.

PS4 in the long run. 3DS is just in a drought right now. When Pokemon and Smash come out, it's sales will be up for a long time. But eventually go back down. 3DS will probably sell anywhere between 85m-105m. PS4 will probably sell 120-130m. I just don't think either 3DS or PS4 will outsell the DS and PS2. So my point about the Pokemon and Smash Bros. was that PS4 is gonna be behind for a couple of more years.

Well, the DS sold 154 million units. I don't think the 3DS will get near there, but it could realistically break 100 million.

I don't see the PS4 hitting 100 million. The PS2 was an oddity...I don't think there will ever be another household system that sells that well. The Wii *barely* broke 100 million, and that was huge. Everyone wanted one, whether it was kids, "hardcore" gamers, and the ubercasuals like Grandma and Grandpa. Hell, my boss bought one for lightgun games, and he's professed his hatred for "the sticks" several times to me.

I see the 3DS settling around 90 million, maybe around 95. I see the PS4 hitting what the PS3 did: 85 tops.

3DS is really really far from being on pace to 90+ million. For that to happen it would need a miracle.

Or a 3D Zelda, new Metroid, Smash...games that are proven system sellers.

what? Zelda isnt really a system seller. Metroid is def not a system seller. Smash might do something, but who knows since its being released closer to Wii U version.

What kind of Software does the PS4 have to sell 100 million even, let alone higher.

The 3DS has great games in 2014 alone, like King of Pirates, which has a lot of marketing & advertising & branding for it near release. As well as Rodea the Sky Soldier and what was announced at E3 2K14 and then there's the exclusive from Mega Man creator that plays like both Mega Man & Migthy No. 9, plus Mighty No. 9 is a multiplatform that won't come out til 2015 or 2016. The 3DS is also getting a bunch of Japanese 3rd Party exclusives localize. And then there's the content from Warner Bros. & Disney & Dreamworks coming out for the 3DS & 3DS XL, which is going to sell millions of systems to people who don't even buy video game systems, but this won't happen til 2015 for this one type of content finally coming to the 3DS.

It will have Gran Turismo, GTA, CoDs, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, Destiny (this game will be huge, absolutely gigantic and will move insane amounts of hardware and kill CoD), Watch Dogs, Uncharted, Need For Speed. GTA V is actually not far from the actual LTD sales of 3DS. This games are huge, massive sellers. People don't need software to buy PS4s because they know it will get all 3rd party titles just like all its predecessors did. I will take a bet that PS4 will sell more than 100M units lifetime anyday.
