PS4, the system will keep selling consistently rather then a large burst like the 3DS. The PS4 will have price cuts that will keep the sales strong, and possibly 1 or 2 redesigns.

You do realize that the 3DS hasn't had a price cut in 3 years, because it was selling good until now?

Clearly a up to $70 price cut is coming to the 3DS with an obvious $50 price cut coming to the 3DS XL. Plus exclusives like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & Super Smash Bros. portable & King of Pirates & other exclusive from Mega Man creator & Rodea the Sky Soldier & so fort, will help the 3DS come no later then Q4 2014. But til then, I see Nintendo focusing on Wii U until it can take care of itself in October.

The 3DS has room for 1 major price cut. The PS4 has room for 4 or more. The 3DS probably does not have any major redesigns either while the PS4 has 1 or 2.

Redesigns don't sell systems. It's the games. And the 3DS has another major price cut in 2017 for a price as low as $49.99¢, assuming this year's major price cut brings it down to $99.99¢, otherwise there will be 3 or so more price cut in the 3DS future, instead of just 2.

The increase internal storage helped the PS3 & 360, but the PS4 & ONE started out with 500 GB storage which explains the PS4's success' which also explains the Xbox ONE's success, now that it's finally $400.

What we learned is that any Home Console above $400 will fail. And any Handheld above $200 will also fail. The Nintendo Handhelds & Home Consoles are the only ones that can sell without the storage capacity, but e 3DS can use 64 GB HC SD Cards (which I got one myself), while the Vita can only use 32 GB Vita cards.

The 3DS just needs games like those 2 exclusives from Mega Man creator and that one exclusive from Sonic creator, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & Bravely Second & so fort.

The PS4 has to wait for Uncharted 4. Multiplatforms like GTA & COD have to be shared with ONE (now $400) and PC and Wii U.

Destiny is the only game in 2014 left to give it another boost for a moment. The 3DS in Q4 has more new games to offer, and so does the Wii U, like Bayonetta 1 & 2 and Super Smash Bros. Console and Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon and so fort.

Long story short, games have always shown that they are what sell systems, upon release most or all the time. Games have always turned the tide, like what release during the end of the PS3's lifespan.

It will always be the games that move Home Consoles & Handhelds. For 2014 destiny is the only other game for the PS4. The 3DS has a great lineup for 2014 & 2015 & 2016. The PS4 has a great lineup for 2015 if I remember correctly. I can't dodge 2016 for the PS4, because I'm assuming a lot of unannounce titles.

I think some of the best sells for PS4 & Xbox ONE will be Q4 2015, but I see them doing only decently in Q4 2014.

Price cuts are only done when a system has started having poor sales for sure anyways. So there's always a several month bad time with any video game system, because of this system the 3 companies use for when to implore any price cuts.

People are still calling consoles these childish names?

What I said is nothing compared to what others say about the Wii U. :)

OT: PS4 has to ride the momentum that it has now, otherwise it will end up like the Wii toward the end of its generation.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

Nintendo really ignored the 3DS this year and really on focused on Wii U especially at E3. Games like Kirby rainbow curse and Mario Maker could have been easily made for the 3DS, except instead of using NSMBU graphics it would use NSMB2 graphics for mario maker.Really the only big releases this year were Yoshi's New Island (which was OK but woolly world looks soooo much better), Kirby Triple Deluxe, Smash Bros 3D, and Pokemon gen 3 remakes. Compare that to 2013 where we got Luigi's Mansion dark moon, Pokemon X and Y, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D,Mario and Luigi Dream Team, A link between worlds, and probably a couple more I missed.

Kirby Rainbow Curse is played on the touch screen, so it wouldn't have worked on the 3DS because it wouldn't use the 3D screen.

Mario Maker has the NES game, and they would need more time & money to do the stereoscopic rendering, especially time consuming, I mean just figuring out how exactly you want to do 3D in the NES Super Mario Bros. game consumes time by itself, let alone the other things in development that would consume even more time for a 3DS Mario Maker. And there's no reason to make Mario Maker for Wii U if there's a 3D one. So they had every reason for this game to also be on the Wii U exclusively instead.

2014 does have a great 3DS lineup, you just didn't see many revealed at E3 for the Wii U's sake. But look forward to unannouced games coming to the 3DS in just 2014 alone.

So are you saying there are more directs coming to talk about 3DS? Also, I missed Tomodachi Life in my 3DS 2014 lineup which looks really fun

There are 2 different exclsuives from Mega Man creator coming to the 3DS this year, but none of them are Mega Man Legends 3 :..(

Theres also Rodea the Sky Soldier.

Anyone who became a fan of Mutant Mudds & Gunman Clive via smartphones & tablets & PC will have to buy a 3DS for their sequels. (that was the plan all along, well not the original plan for Gunman Clive, but only the 3DS glasses-free 3D shows off the 3D cell-shaded graphics of Gunman Clive)

There are also games you forgot to mention, like Persona Q & Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & etc.

And yeah, Tomodachi Life does look really fun.

come on man. you cant honestly believe that people are really going to buy 3dsS in droves just to play sequels to some indie games? i like gunman clive as much as the next guy but if i didnt have 3ds and the only way to play the sequel was to get a 3ds i would say fuck that. and this is coming from gamer so what do you think people who care alot less will do. Honestly i dont see any games you mentioned doing much for the system not in the west.

PS4 has plenty of games coming, and will most likely have more games then the 3DS LTD.

The 3DS will probably only have 1 more price cut. The 360 is almost 9 years old and is still sold $150-$250. So the 3DS will probably not be sold for under $99.

Redesigns really improved 3DS sales and also PS3, PS2, PS1 etc. DS as well. If the Redesign is done well it will push systems, unlike PSP GO.

Not that many people bought those games on the PC & Smartphones to begin with. I wouldn't called it droves, but it's a 1 time noticible boost to a new audience. I mean the 3DS version of Gunman Clive outsold the combine sells of iPhone & Android for a reason, because they weren't that high on Smartphones to begin with. And normally people would say fuck it, but with a good price tag after the next price cut, plus the addition of glasses-free 3D in 60 fps per video image, it can archive a new un-tap casual audience, but it will be small, but it's a good one time boost in sales.

The 2 games from Mega Man creator that are 3DS exclusives will boost the system, especially the way they are mass marketing & advertising & branding King of Pirates 1. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & Super Smash Bros. Handheld with 2D sprite looking graphics when played with the 3D OFF, will also help sells.

all these things add up to a perfect storm of an actual real improvement of sells.

Its everything altogether plus price cut, that will bring the 3DS momentum back.

The Wii really did a lot in sells because of that year 2015 from Back to the Future 2 like video gaming. It was like the hover board of Home Consoles. Now where's our Hover Boards? LOL.

i dont think we are going to see any boost from those games except for Smash and whatever holiday season will bring. Doest matter if Gunman Clive did better on 3ds. lets not forget on apple and Android stores it is competing with MORE and CHEAPER games. Of course it did better on 3ds. Hell that right there tells you that people def wont update for the 3ds to get a sequel since that much people werent interested on those devices in the first place
