No Zero Suit Samus? What the hell Nintendo?

She'll be in it for sure, in an interview it was confirmed that all playable characters in SSB will have one due to the feature on wiiu!

Hope they don't take too long, I'd buy the two Samus figures without even owning a WiiU. It's hard to find solid Nintendo figurines at a cheap price.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

you know why people hate dlc? they moan about 'nothing to hold in your hands'. give people some plastic for their money.
smart move!

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

I really hope this stupid concept doesn't take off. Could you imagine paying $60 for a game, then having to pay another $60 or more to get figures to unlock the availability of certain portions in the game? The only good thing about it is that you actually have physical versions of these items so it's basically DLC, but it's not digital, but $10-$15 and what they're adding into SSB? Seems super overpriced.

After watching the explanation video, it kinda seems silly to me. The information these little figures are carrying could easily just be tied to your NintendoNetwork/WiiU/Whatevertheycallit account, if Nintendo just bothered to put some extra work into the online service. These physical figures shouldn't be necessary.

They're not necessary.  They're there so Nintendo can charge ridiculous prices for locking out content.

I'm not sure why so many people in this thread are okay with this.  This is no different than Capcom's disc locked content.  It's clear that the AI customization feature is in SSB already but in order to use it you have to pay this additional cost.  So they're locking out part of  the game behind this disc locked cont....errr... Amiibo.

While im keen to collect, I have a small issue in that some of the figures just look cheap compared to the others. Dunno what it is but the Link and Samus models just look average compared to others. I just hope that these are prototypes and the final releases will be of good quality.

Marth and Zelda look pretty awesome (and they are the ones I am gonna buy)

Now the question is... What are the pricing options?

Agreed, and agreed.  I want to see them up close to really examine the quality.

Its all business they can make way more money doing this its a million dollar market. I mean my nephews and nieces already buy Disney Inifinity and the skycrap toys in bulk, so heres another great money trap for parents genius move by Nintendo get all them dollar bills.

They need third-party amiibos too. I just don't know if Nintendo would do it though. But think, if your Batman amiibo adds special features to Batman-games that makes an multiplat much more interesting on WiiU.

bets: [GTA6]

See, this is why I don't mind companies copying each other at all. Activision did it, but I didn't care about the Skylander characters, while a Pikachu figure/toy would be sweet.

lol true. Its funny cuz in all honesty nintendo gets copied off the most so its ok for once in awhile they do it. But wats cool about amiibo is that its not needed and you collect wat you want and arent locked into one game!

Wait for megaman! that will be a huge awakening for Capcom.

I hope they track each figurine to see whats the most popular!
