Forums - Nintendo - Amiibo Figurines Pic! Update: Packaging Pics Now and Estimate Pricing ($10-$15)

I really wonder what they will do for a game like Mario Party or Mario Kart.
I mean there is not Kirby in either of those games, will it just not work, or will it unlock Kirby as a character?
That would be awesome!

Super Smash Bros. U + 1-2 Amiibo Starter Pack + Wii U 32GB console bundle this Black Friday should move some units.

I like Amiibo because I've always kinda felt that's Nintendo's universe of characters has been underused quite honestly.

Sure everyone knows Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, and Pikachu ... but I look at a property like Kid Icarus ... that should be a big property with kids, yet most kids probably don't know those characters. Or Captain Falcon, or Fire Emblem characters, or Star Fox characters, or even Samus ... there's probably a lot of people who wouldn't be able to name those characters.

I love the prototype packages! Really well designed.

See, this is why I don't mind companies copying each other at all. Activision did it, but I didn't care about the Skylander characters, while a Pikachu figure/toy would be sweet.

lol true. Its funny cuz in all honesty nintendo gets copied off the most so its ok for once in awhile they do it. But wats cool about amiibo is that its not needed and you collect wat you want and arent locked into one game!

Wait for megaman! that will be a huge awakening for Capcom.

I hope they track each figurine to see whats the most popular!

Not a big fan of Megaman myself, but I'd definitely like to see it do well to show Capcom just how popular he still is.

I think Amiibo is going to be a big hit for Nintendo honestly, it may even ease some of their financial burdens this generation as I think it could be a legit third pillar money maker for them.

I also like what they are doing with them. They are DLC with more than one game (meaning its not mandatory), and collect wat you want. I mean it'll be a pain if you want to collect them all, but i still think they are doing it the right way.

Question is, which figurines will i go with first?

Nintendo going to get $$$$$$$ this holiday!

Most games this year release right before holiday (Hyrule Warriors, but more so Bayo2+Toad Adventure)

SSB for 3ds and WiiU will be even bigger

Pokemon (though it wont sell XY numbers for obvious reasons, it'll still sell at least 6mil)

SSB GCN accessory (Remotes again + Adapter!)

Amiibo (even if everybody buys 1 thats an extra $10 each!) Im buying at least 4 this holiday.

Only 2 cons.... Money (wallet gonna go thru some shit :0) and which figurines to choose!!!

I doubt I get too much into them, but I might get one for Fox and Marth (and if they ever bring one for Chrom...)

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

So...something that occurred to me this morning:

I really hope that Nintendo is on the ball with this idea. While there may seem to be a lot of figurines to collect, the reality of it is that right now there is only one of each character. I'm definitely buying Samus. So after I buy Samus, I really hope that every game that utilizes her character will feature some exclusive content just for owning that figurine. So when the next Metroid comes out, I whip out Samus, have the game pad read her, and then voila, new costume skins, access to a "shrine room" where we see the visages of other Nintendo characters, etc.

If we take that idea one step further, we could see that having Metroid WiiU stats uploaded to your Samus character will unlock new skins for Samus in SSB WiiU. There's a lot of opportunity for synergy here. I just hope that someone at Nintendo understands just how impactful these collectibles can be.

Just wondering, though. What happens when you battle a friend or someone online and they have a much sronger character? I'd sort of force my friends to use a regular character if they were stronger, to play fairly.

It would only be stronger if your friend put more work into training it. In a way it's as fair as you versus your friend. If you're the better player that put more practice into the game, you'll win more often than you lose.
